How's it going Steemers??

The past couple of weeks I have been helping out rip down my local indoor skate park, Ramp Attak.

I'm not going to lie it was like watching your favourite pub burn down...
Due to the corona virus the park had to shut down early. But their lease was nearly up, so it was the perfect time to rip the entire park down and make the move to the new warehouse venue.

Here are some of my favourite highlights from the past decade.

Ramp Attak first opened its doors in 2010. We heard on the street there was an indoor skatepark opening up in our neighbourhood and we couldn't believe it!!!

So we jumped in the car and drove around the industrial estate until we found the warehouse! We stood at the gate yelling "let us in" haha

Well it worked. The owner Wayne let us in to have a look around. Then we came back the following night to film this edit for him.

It was the first of so many sessions at this park.
The park is the perfect training grounds and consists of two areas.

the halfpipe and box jump area.

There is also a foam pit and resi ramp to practice all you tricks on, to get them dialed before you take them to the actual ramps.

The park changed over the years. With new obstacles being added all the time.

I also held alot of skate comps here.. including the throw down comps

And the venue was home to the Australian rollerblade opens for two years. That was a lot of work to put together the comps but was totally worth it. Every roller from around Australia made their way to Queensland to battle it out for the top prize.
Check out these edits from the two Australian Rolling Opens.

We even used the back carpark to film one of the VC Clothing promos. With my old van that we used to use for skate tours haha it got a bit crazy.

But was a hell of alot of fun! Check out the edit.

The half pipe was also alot of fun. Practicing airs in the ramp and getting all your grinding tricks on lock was always a good challenge. As well as getting some good boost over the jump box.

They even had this huge wall ride at one point.

Rollerbladers had the park to them self every Wednesday night. As each sport had their own night. And the weekends the park was just jammed packed with scooter kids.

It was the perfect place for kids to learn how to ride scooters in a safe environment.

I wish I had something like this to train on when I was growing up.

Due to the many roles I played at Ramp Attak they put a big picture of me hanging from the roof. It was such an honour 😊

Also when ever nitro circus came to Brisbane they would always stop in at Ramp Attak. It was awesome to meet one of my idols Travis Pastrana there and hang out and have a chat😊

Some times we would come up with some cool ideas for photo shoots that we would do after hours at the park.
Here are some pics from one night with a smoke machine.

So many good memories from this park😊
10 years later and it was time to move the entire park to a new venue, for a fresh start and new park layout!!

I can't believe how many screws were in the park, it was mind blowing.

It was alot of hard work from every one involved to pull the park down.

I took down the wall where Mystik did this awesome VC Clothing Piece.

And in the foam pit they found five phones and $390 in change that kids have lost in there.

Under every ramp we found a lot of old skateboards.

And even a T Rex escaped from under a ramp.

Even the old rail from my back yard set up lived at ramp Attak.

I spent 8 days all up helping rip down the skatepark. And we finally pulled apart the last ramp.

It was a sad moment knowing we will never skate this park again. It sure was an end of an era. So many good memories here. But I was also excited for the brand new park that is about to be built and all the good times to come in the future.

So stay tuned for Ramp Attak 2.0

As we design and build the new skatepark, over the next couple of month's, I will post some progress blogs.
