Genalogy: Enoch Buck (1683-1770)

I'm experimenting with posting some random bits of my genealogy research here.

This individual was born in 1683 which is far enough back that getting info can be difficult. It mainly comes down to where they were born, and what records were kept in those locales.

According to Gramps, this individual is my first cousin, eleven time removed.

I use GenoPro to maintain my family tree but I use other programs to generate reports/web pages. Gramps is open source software for Windows, Linux and MacOS that I have been using to generate static HTML reports and is what the info you see below is based on. I also use its relationship calculator functionality. I've also been exploring GedSite, a program that takes a gedcom file and converts it into html, and The Next Generation of Genealogy Sitebuilding which is web based and requires a setup with a web server, php and mysql. Mostly I've been playing around with TNG but I'll get back to GedSite eventually.

When it comes to converting this stuff to web pages, every piece of software available seems to have advantages and disadvantages and it is hard to settle on just one. One of the things I like about TNG is how you can easily switch between different chart styles.

I've finally picked a reasonable candidate for a descendant chart (pictured above). These charts tend not to be as compact as ancestor charts so this is only a partial chart but at least it gives an idea for what descendant charts look like in TNG.
