15 Things I've Learned From My First Dog (Who is a GSD)
After my wife and I got married we decided to get a dog (this being my first dog). At first we couldn't agree on the breed but when the idea of a GSD came up it stuck. From the outset my wife was a little hesitant based on stories heard about the breed but she took the plunge anyway. We both couldn't have been more happy with our choice as we fell in love with this pup we got from a breeder and he turned out to be the kindest most loyal dog we could have asked for. Here are 15 random things I've learned from having my first dog and GSD.
1. You know its right when you found the one.
2. Women dig dogs, especially puppies!
3. Anything is fair play to be chewed.
4. Sometime you just gotta nap it out.
5. The ears take some time, sometimes up, sometimes down and sometimes both.
6. Bandanas were made for dogs to wear.
7. When going through the puppy stages, the coat color is always changing.
8. Dogs can get jealous, even of cats.
9. Not all cats like dogs.
10. But cohabitation is possible.
11. Pinning down the enemy is always an option.
12. Don't expect any toy, especially stuffed to last long.
13. A bed is always a good buy.
14. Don't expect to be left alone while trying to watch TV.
15. Their love for snow can run deep.
These are only a few things I've learned from having my first dog and having such an energetic one at that. He is only a year and a half old now so still a puppy pretty much. Looking forward to seeing how he continues to grow.
While not the best when it comes to sight, dogs have a keen sense of hearing, and can hear sounds at 4 times the distance of humans.
