Haunted house "proof"

in #ghost7 years ago (edited)

As a child I lived with my mom and dad , and we lived at my grandfathers house. We had one of the oldest houses in the neighborhood. This doesn't mean it was rundown or ugly, actually it was very nice and I believe they call it Victorian. This house was what they call haunted, and when I say haunted I mean it. I believe spirits hold on to their personalities and keep some of what they were when they were alive because The spirits that lived in the house with us played favorites. They hated my grandfather, when ever he was alone in a room they would touch him or just plain try to make him feel uncomfortable. This went double if he was crazy enough to go down into the basement alone, something I never had the nerve to do at night. If he was caught in the basement they would actually throw things at him and push him. I could remember many times seeing my 6' 2" grandpa Joe flying through an old fashioned thin extra small under the stairs basement door. If you have an old house you may know the door I'm taking about. It was a hassle trying to get through that door at a normal speed, but my grandpa joe would be so scared he would woosh right out and then act like nothing happened. my dad seen things and heard things one night he woke up and went downstairs to get something to drink and he said he seen a family eating dinner at out kitchen table. He said one of them turned and looked at him and then went back to eating. That scared him so bad he ran back to bed. butt they didn't seam to like or dislike him they kinda just lived with him. Then there was my mom and I who seamed to be there favorite guests. My mother would wake up to find old coins, silverware, and all sorts of gifts under her pillow. For me it was toys that were very old and every now and then I would find a new one all under the same floorboard in the attic. I was also told that when I was really young and could not reach the light switch that when I would walk into a new room "they" would turn it on for me. This of course was not an everyday thing but it was a lot and for as long as I can remember. Well eventually my grandfather sold the house and me mom and dad got a new place and I grew up, always telling my cool ghost stories and missing my old house. Well when I was 23 I had gotten a job as a bartender at a bar in Babylon Village. It must've been about one in the morning when I overheard an older woman telling Friends about how her house was haunted. She said how she was scared to be in certain rooms alone and how visitors would always hear and see things. So me being the excellent bartender I was I butted my way into the Conversation and we exchanged ghost stories. Towards the end of the night I asked her how old her house was and she told me it's one of the oldest in the town and I said no way it must be a thing with old houses because my grandfather also lives in one of the older houses in the neighborhood so she asked me which was his on what block and I told her and then I seen the look on her face like nothing I've ever seen before she asked me is your grandfather Joe Gianferrara ? I said how the hell do you know who my grandfather is and then she looks at me and says I bought his house. What ensued what's the next three hours of us just going over every story about every room we couldn't believe that this whole time we were talking about the same house it's amazing when you actually get verification that what you've known you've gone through your whole life was actually true. So of course I called my grandfather right away and told him about what had happened and he laughed and said she overpaid, I wanted out of that house so bad I would've gave it to her. This is one of my Best life stories I tell because it truly was amazing and I'm glad it happened. I often wonder who's living in that house now and what's going on with it. Also for you readers a little tidbit of information I live two towns away from the famed amityville horror house that I'm sure you've seen every movie on. Well thanks for reading and have a great night. Regards Tommy G.

Yikes... Scary stuff. I would have freaked out, and not taken it as one of the best life stories as you have. You are braver than I, my friend.

I was just amazed that over 17 years later my old haunted house would be confirmed. You know as you get older memories fade and you wonder if it was as bad a you remember it being and I got my answer. Yes it was bad. Thanks for reading. TommyG

Tomorrow I will tell the story of the house my grandfather rented that he and my grandmother had to run out of in the middle of the night. If you read my blogs then you know that my family was in the papers for selling a ufo , and now they are saying that there is some sort of connection between ufos and paranormal events. So if your interested I will give a timeline and story tomorrow. Have a good night.

You are very welcome. Memories do fade, but certain memories stick with us forever for a reason. They are important somehow.
