Gift Circle(1).png

Gift circles are an emerging organisational format to facilitate gift giving and promote community. Gift circles are both simple and flexible. The structure is loose and non-confining, amplifying the flexibility and relaxed nature of non-monetary interaction.

Structure of a Gift Circle :

Introduction :

New attendees can start with introducing themselves.

Requests :

Circle members state a set of wishes, what they'd like to receive.

Offers :

Circle members make offers of what they want to contribute, whether goods or services, possibly but not necessarily in response to others requests.

Gratitude :

Members express gratitude for gifts they have received from others.

Action:

Just because you have made an offer you are not obliged to meet a request, it's up to you to decide what, when and to whom you want to contribute.

I have only done gift circles in person before so this is a new experiment. Also plan to host gift circles with voice chat on Discord which will make it more personal and similar to a tradiditonal gift circle where there's rounds and you take turns expressing yourself.

Thanks for this opportunity!

Nice contribution @xyzashu, welcome to the circle of the gift! Added your offer and request to the list!

Ooh I love this! Now i've got some thinking to do about what I can offer :)! Will be back for sure :)

Nice what a coincidence you are writing about this, I was thinking of a very similar concept that I wanted to talk about this weekly meeting!

I would love to see you there too @reko!

Cool, think it got great potential! See ya at the weekly meeting! :)

Another great idea @reko! I would potentially be willing to gift $5 SBD for some fresh poker chips for @reko. For me, I am trying to come up with the funds to purchase the "Psychic Stream Seeker" Puerh tea cake from my client (Mei Leaf Tea) This is a premium tea, but will help enhance my energy to be able to get through my hours and hours of remote computer work each day. I have evolved from coffee to tea, as tea has MANY more health benefits, and is less heavy on the adrenal glands. This "Psychic Stream Seeker" tea cake is on my Christmas list, but I simply am not bringing in enough income from my work (considering other expenses) to afford it. So I thought I would just put it out there, and see if any other tea enthusiasts out there would see the value in helping make this happen. The tea cake costs 66.95 GBP (or ~ $89 USD). It's a bit pricey, but this is the "good stuff" and will GREATLY enhance the energy required for my work. No pressure, of course. I just thought I would put this out there, because I have been trying to save up for this anyway. Thanks for reading this. The link to the product, and all of its details, on the supplier's site is below.

Hey @transcript-junky! Updated with your request, hope you get a hold of it as I'm interested to hear a review of it! A donation of 5 SBD is very generous of you and of course much welcomed! :)

Hey @reko, since I don't have access to any casino supply trucks, or OPULENT Swedish dumpsters - and am quite honestly living one foot on the street these days - how about my $5 SBD gift to you be paid out DEPENDENT on the $89.00 USD "Psychic Stream Seeker" tea cake I have requested materializing as a result of this "gift circle". I was actually DRUNK when I suggested the $5 SBD, but it is a good idea, since you are putting this all together. So, if the tea cake is made possible through this post I will pay out the $5 SBD to you. In the meantime I continue to upvote your "war booty" posts daily. Sound good?

Perfect! :)

Wonderful idea @reko !
Introduction: Poker enthusiast and blogger. I can often be found playing at http://www.lucksacks.com. Request: Good karma and blog readership. Offer: gift circle participants may request knowing 1 card I hold during an all-in moment. If granted, I will reveal in chat prior to their action. I will type in rank and suit of 1 card once for requester. This will only be honored if action is heads up between requester and I. Excluded is the Sunday 50sbd team play game. Would not be fair to teammates.

I can offer 5 STEEM for a good cause..
