WTF with these free Giveaways, Lotteries, Contests and Challenges???steemCreated with Sketch.

I come across loads of posts daily about free giveaways, contests and challenges to earn free SBD or STEEM. There are a lot of such posts, and all they ask you to do are very trivial tasks, UPVOTE, COMMENT, and RESTEEM. Seriously??? That's all this platform actually runs on.

Upvoting a post here makes you a curator here which implies that you found the post's content knowledgeable, intellectual, informative, creative, entertaining, inspiring, motivating, or anything of worth. Resteeming a post gives you more of a responsibility for spreading it out to others for all the reasons listed above so that they are represented with some worthy content.

It feels very disappointing with such kind of posts or content on such a revolutionary platform. Such kinds of posts are kind of ABUSIVE to the platform. I don't know if you people have made a fortune through these kind of posts here, and I am the idiot who is missing out because of my ignorance or negligence. If that's the case, please let me know for sure in the comments :)

I wouldn't blame the authors of such posts at all. In fact, I perceive them as the intelligent, creative and genius people who are definitely making loads of money with their ingenuity. Guess, who are the fools here. The victim of such creative posts is the STEEMIT community. Guess who are the culprits here.

Please for the sake of the community and yourself, stop wasting your precious time (and others') on such posts. I am pretty much sure, you have got an incredible personality within you, who could contribute to this great platform with your authorship or curation of worthy content.

PLEASE DO LET ME KNOW IN THE COMMENTS IF YOU HAVE REALLY EARNED GOOD FROM SUCH POSTS WORTH YOUR TIME SPENT ON THEM. I WOULD ALSO JOIN IN. :p :)

good said dear. I appreciate your feelings

I see those posts on steemit.....every day. It is almost impossible to change that. It is all in the head of a writer (author) , so we would have to change their minds or thoughts about such posts.

Thank you @worldfinances, I am very glad to have people in consensus with me on this topic.

Well, the only thing in the head of the author of such posts is Money and they really make a lot of it, if you would see the payouts of such posts. I mean why would they stop on their own. Moreover, we don't have any control over anyone's minds or thoughts.

The best we could do is, just don't upvote and resteem such posts, and educate others on the community to do the same. The authors will automatically stop when they won't get any audience and in turn, any money.

Well said! It seems most people coming into steemit nowadays just see is it an another avenue of making some steems rather than sharing and gaining knowledge. This is bad! Until there is a way some of this unnecessary posts can be curtailed, we may start seeing a whole lot of spams. But well, it seems we are stucked with this for as long as it keeps on!

Yeah, exactly. Well, I don't see any wrong in trying to make some or huge money or steems, but if that is with some content of worth. Doing that with abusive content and kind of luring others into it, that's pretty bad. The simple and most effective way as of now I can see is not to give them the exposure they ask for, by simply refraining from UPVOTING or RESTEEMING such posts. I wonder what will happen if the Steemit started entertaining advertisements in future. But then at last, it's the free world out there, everyone is free to do whatever and however they want to! Thanks @tosmartak for your understanding. Following you! :)

So the freebies I post have nothing to do with upvotes or followers or resteem. I post them because they are part of the cheapogroovo system where you DONT PAY FOR WHAT YOU CAN GET FOR NOTHING.

Yeah @cheapogroovo, I checked out the content you share and I would completely agree with your comment here. You are making the win-win for both the parties - the product manufacturer or the service provider and the customers or the users here. Keep at it!! :)

That's very good to hear. Thank you for sharing this, @free999enigma. I will also try to join in the next one :)

I liked the post you have mentioned, because the author hasn't kept any rules as to upvote or resteem his post to be a winner. It's up to the users if they want to or not, and you can see for yourself how much upvotes this post has earned. Now compare it with the posts where it is must to upvote and resteem, you will find the huge difference in number. That's what happens with most of the posts with great content.
