New GMO wheat has people wondering about the future.
With the help of genetic modification, a new, improved, strain of wheat is boosting yields by 15-20%. This is a major advance. Millions of tons of wheat are produced yearly in just the US alone. Boosting that yield by 15% without adding to land size or water consumption could prove to be a game changer. Massive environmental effects could ensue. Freeing more land for use in wildlife preserves or natural biomes. Forests and grasslands. These plants also make better use of the CO2 in the air. Pulling in more CO2 and releasing more oxygen could have lasting effects on the world we live in.
See you later friends,
