Blog #006: Slowly rising again - Introducing new category
Hello Steemians! So I made it back to Shadow and am really happy about that, because it gives me the opportunity to win more than one Core pack this weekend even without tons of time. I feel like three standard Core packs is a better reward right now than the single Epic Core pack you get on Tier 3, so I might as well take it easy one more time.
New category: Spotted! Shining light on some lesser known cards
So two days ago, I played against BourneGaming (Twitch streamer and participant in the invitational tournament) and I got CRUSHED! Mr. Demigod played a Genesis-only deck and hit with some cards I never noticed before, though I'm regularly browsing (GUcards)[https://gu.cards/]. This gave me a reason for this column. I want to introduce you to some cards and talk about them in general and their impact on me. Some will be lesser known and others used in the meta. I want to spread some use cases, fun facts and whatever else comes to my mind :D
Spotted: Broken Harvester
The first card BourneGaming played against me was Broken Harvester. It's a neutral monster which makes it very versatile. Broken Harvester costs only 1 Mana, and with it's 1/5 stats it is a pretty impressive opener. Of course it comes with a trade-off: it attacks a valid target at the start of your turn, meaning you can' choose what to attack. This effect might remind you of Spiral Golem, but it's actually quite different.
Broken Harvester attacks only valid targets. So if there is a creature with and another one without frontline, the creature with frontline will be attacked. This makes it more predictable for your enemy, since Spiral Golem could also hit a creature with Backline. However, since Broken Harvester can attack all "valid targets" it might also attack your opponent directly. Spiral Golem can't do this as long as your opponent has creatures on his board. Interestingly enough, both of them are Atlanteans, but I think because of their high values, you might also see them in Non-Atlantean decks.
Tell me in the comments what you think about those cards, and check back tomorrow for a new episode of the GU puzzle :)
