Why is India known by four names?
In the world, only India is a country which is known by four names. From ancient times till now, many people have been lived in India and are living. Since then, India has been known by four names. These four names are:
Hindusthan
Aryavarta
Bharat
India
There are different reasons behind these names:
Hindusthan: After few years the Hindu Valley Civilization began. People of Indus Valley Civilization lived near the river Indus. The people of the Indus Valley Civilization used to pronounce 'h' of 's'. For this reason, the Indus Valley was later known as the Hindu valley.

Aryavarta: Thousands of year ago, from many years It was the birthplace of Aryans society. That is why it was known as Aryavarta.

Bharat: After many years of Arya Samaj, Raja Bharat was born here, Bharata was the first chakravartin (universal emperor of chakra). He is the son of Rishabhanatha. This place was called Bharat-bhumi by the name of Raja Bharat.
