Knowing and enjoying your inheritance

in #gospel7 years ago

Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the
spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that
are freely given to us of God (1 Corinthians 2:12).
1
Corinthians 3:21 says, “...All things are yours.” It
doesn’t get clearer or more direct than that. 2 Peter
1:3 emphasises the same reality. It says, “According as his
divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto
life and godliness….” There’s nothing you need today that isn’t
already made available to you in Christ.
However, there’s no way you can appropriate the
blessings of God to your life if you don’t know the Word.
Through the Word, you discover your inheritance; but there’s
more. It’s one thing to discover your inheritance, it’s another
thing to enjoy it; and that’s where the Holy Spirit comes in.
We read in our opening verse, part of His ministry in our lives:
He helps us know our divine endowments; things that have
been given to us freely by God.
Then, the ensuing verse thirteen says, “Which things
also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom
teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth…” (1
Corinthians 2:13). Did you notice that? He helps us know,
and teaches us to speak what we know. That’s the key to
enjoying your inheritance. The affirmation of it makes it real.
Life in its fullness, fellowship with the Father and with His Son
Jesus Christ, righteousness, peace, divine healing and health,
prosperity, forgiveness, etc., are some of God’s glorious
blessings given to you to enjoy freely; speak them forth.
