In Maui, Hawaii, I was lucky enough to stumble upon the famed ube mochi ball truck!
Before heading to Maui, I’d heard that Dee’s Poi Mochi was a must-try.
To my delight, I came across it at a small night market in Kihei on Friday evening.
It had the longest line in the market, and I waited patiently for quite some time.
I ordered a dozen—half ube, half taro.
The ube ones were my favorite, despite their inky-black appearance, which was amusingly endearing.
Essentially, they’re like an ube version of sesame balls.
For the sauce, I chose the White Chocolate Coconut option with an extra touch of ube.
Though delicious, it leaned on the sweeter side!
