Nebula AI launches ORION

• Cloud computing service providers are “racing to invest in GPU-enabled virtual machines”. The reason is that the increasing adoption of AI creates an ever-increasing need for high-fidelity GPU based computing power and what space can offer as of right now is expensive, very expensive.

• Nebula AI   is trying to solve this issue by launching an Orion, a service that can be described as the Uber for GPUs. The Nebula AI platform — which was officially launched on September 28th, lets users around the world sell their computing power. Such an approach can potentially grow a GPU cloud computing infrastructure much faster than what is possible by building big data centers like most competitors do.

• The Nebula's platform works in a completely different way than its competitors. While centralized data centers are a part of the network, anybody can build a rig and start selling computing power. The system is designed in such a way that GPU owners can contribute to the network with their machines.
  
• Also, the Nebula system doesn’t only provide computing power. It also hosts AI apps that respect the privacy of the users. The data storage is both encrypted and decentralized to ensure that not even the company that created the system can access the user data.

Roadmap

• Q1 2017 Began to design concept, research, and explore the hyperledger.
• Q3 2017 Developed the Quant-AI DAI APP and conceptual prototype.
• Q1 2018 Started to sell tokens; Helix test chain went live.
• Q3 2018 Helix public chain will go live, integrate the first DAI APP; start to develop the Orion and Orion prototype chain.
• Q1 2019 Orion test chain will go live.
• Q3 2019 Orion public chain will go live and integrate 10 DAI APPs.
• Q1 2020 Orion will integrate 50 DAI APPs.
• Q3 2020 Orion will integrate 500 DAI APPs.

According to the latest announcement from the project development team: (Especially for Orion Cloud users and NBAI Token holders)

1. Mainnet will be launched at any time within 72 hours (from EST 28, Sep.), in order to make sure enough hash rate and nodes support.
2. Community mining software will be accessible to communities and mining farms 10 days after EST 28 Sep.
3. All the tokens that core team mined within those 10 days will be donated to the trial users for education and marketing purpose. Those trial users included: Computational Genomics Lab (Mcgill university computer science).
   Computer science and software engineering-Concordia University, Ubimust (A GPU miner Agency) and Allwegene Tech.—A Gene company in China.
4. The token swap could be done in wallet or exchanges within 6 months.
5. The Quebec government grants 12 university researchers to join the NBAI joint development and provide the funds.
