SLC21/WK6: Summary on Lessons so Far [Hands-on Practical]
Hello Students, good to have you here once again, welcome to class... Am preparing this post with a mixed feeling, first because I am going to be missing you all as today will be my final piece on graphic design for this season and on the other hand, am super excited because it has been 12 weeks of continued impartation of knowledge. Just as my cover images reveals, I want to specially appreciate you all for staying through and most especially the Steemit Team for the rare opportunity given to me.Am grateful!
This week we are going to be doing a summary of all that have been taught from the beginning (1st week) of this class to the 5th week. We have learnt quite a number of things really and the reason why I decided to make this week a summary of all we have learnt is not far fetched. It's so that we can track our progress and see how we can marry and integrate all of these lessons together.
• Lesson 1
In this lesson we discussed gradient at length and how it can be used to our advantage when working on a design project. Below is a piece adapted from the lesson.
Gradients can be defined as gradual transition between colours which gives a very appealing visual effect even as you see one colour fade into another on your canvas. Personally I would love to say that gradients is a progressive journey into the world of colours , how that you can blend one, two or more colours perfectly to make it appear harmoniously.
• Lesson 2
In this lesson, we discussed logo design, the principles guiding it and how to make logos. It was a well detailed post. Below is a piece adapted from the lesson.
A Logo can be defined as a visual identity or symbol made with the mixture of text, symbols, colour and image, describing your brand and what you do, coupled with the idea behind your brand. Logo is not actually your brand, it's an aspect of your brand that puts you out there, and travel even into places you have not personally being to and it also create a very strong impression about your brand.
• Lesson 3
In this lesson, we discussed the various types of logos we have and distinguished between these logos, we also talked about where each of these logos can be applied for optimal result since it plays a crucial role in representing brands.
WordMark Logos: This type of logo is the type that focus mainly on Typography for the totality of the logo design.
Monogram Logo:A Monogram logo is fondly called Lettermark Logo. It's another kind of typography logo that uses the initials of a brand name to form a logo.
A brandmark logo: This is also referred to as "pictorial logo". It is made up of just an icon or image that simply communicates a brand without so much explanation....
• Lesson 4
In this lesson we talked about mockups and how it can be used to optimize our design. Practical steps were also demonstrated on where and how to use mockup for our designs
A mockup is a well detailed visual representation of what your product design would look like in real life. Sometimes, mere design of product fliers aren't just enough to give us a feel of what it would look like in a real life scenario, hence the need for mockups. It can be a model or image or captions of a proposed design or product...
• Lesson 5
In this lesson we practically demonstrated how to make a flier design for businesses/brands and this I did step by step so that they can also reproduce or learn from the approach used in making the design as well. The homework task given was also in line with the lesson taught.
Kindly go through the lessons from lesson one to five and then do your comprehensive summary about each lesson. Also do well to practically demonstrate how much you understand each of the lessons.
Kindly note that you being as detailed as possible will give you leverage over others.

Everyone who skipped at least 1 class (like me) cannot participate, right, Porfessor @lhorgic?
Oh how I wish I didn't skip any of this class.
You can participate...the idea is just to go through the lessons in the past 5 weeks and make a personalized summary which would be very beneficial to you in the future.
