#gratefulvibes - ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE/THOUGHTS - 12 NOV 2021 - 21 JAN 2022 - I'M HAPPY TO BE BACK!

Good morning, Steemians! 😊

I’ve been gone for longer than I expected, but I really needed the break. I’m happy to be back now though and am looking forward to catching up with everyone. While I was away, I wasn’t idle, I’ve been helping my handsome husband take care of the cows, chickens and dogs and taking care of our feathered visitors, like this beautiful Blue Jay. We’ve also been working on making our daughter’s old room into a plant room. So far, we have carrots, potatoes, mint, summer savory, thyme, rosemary, peas, corn and a few other things growing in our plant room. Eventually though, we’re going to have a real greenhouse, until then though, the plant room will get a lot of use. 😊

There have been a lot of beautiful (or at least very sunny) days since my last post, which means I’ve taken loads of pictures and I’m happy to share some of my favourite shots with you, like this one of our pretty Princess taking a stroll through the front yard pasture in search of any apples that she and her son may have missed. 😊

This particular sunrise was phenomenal to me, so many shades of purples and pinks that turned into a lovely blue sky, it was one of my personal favourites this year. 😊

Here’s our handsome bull Prince running to greet the dogs as I let them out the front door. 😊

One of our pigeons grabbing a snack from the feeder without landing. 😊

We’ve been blessed with a lot of good meals, including one of our favourites, homemade pizza topped with turkey pepperoni, onions, green, red, yellow and orange peppers and loaded with cheese. Thanks to the recipe that the lovely Stacie D (@freedomtowrite) gave us, they always turn out perfectly and taste fantastic! 😊

Prince (left) and his mom Princess (right) meeting my handsome husband up at the top of the driveway so they can make their last trip over to the “orchard pasture” on the other side of our driveway. 😊

We’ve been blessed with some absolutely stunning sunsets too and I wanted to share a few of them with you all. 😊
image.png
We’ve had some wonky weather, at least when compared to our usual fall/winter weather of the past. There’s been snow, (which is pretty as it falls on my favourite tree,) and rain to wash it all away, but when we weren’t paying attention, the freezing rain came in and turned back to snow again. Welcome to Canada, if you don’t like the weather wait five minutes, it’ll change. LOL! 😊
image.png
Our weather never seems to bother our pack of pups though. Our pretty puppy mom Karma (laying down), her beautiful daughter Mya (facing away from her mom) and handsome son Shadow (facing his mom) all love playing in the snow, especially while we’re walking the pathways in the pastures. 😊
image.png
We love seeing all the different colours and patterns on our feathered friends, especially the pigeons. 😊
image.png
We find it kind of neat that some of our pigeons have started to hang out on the railing of the ramp on the side of our house on the really windy days. 😊
image.png
This isn’t a black and white photograph, but the snow and the pigeons make it look like it is, at least to me. 😊

Enjoying the air show. 😊
image.png
Our Blue Jay and Chickadee population has grown again this year and we love chatting with them all when they come by for a snack. 😊

Some of our pigeons coming in for their breakfast as others were departing the other day. 😊

We’ve been enjoying our Simac PastaMatic 700 pasta maker a lot. These are some of the noodles I made the other night. It’s amazing how much pasta one pound of flour and some water actually makes. We cooked two cups worth of the fresh pasta and I dehydrated the rest of it after supper. If anyone knows of a place who ships to Canada and happens to sell the die/discs for the spaghettini and rotini pastas, please let me know in the comments below, those are two of our favourite types of noodles, but neither of them came with machine and the company is no longer around or is well hidden on the internet because I couldn’t find them. Thanking you in advance for any help I can get. 😊

These are the ones that went through the dehydrator and were waiting to be added to their freshly washed pasta bin, enough for several more meals and it only takes a bit of time, patience and some electricity to make it, the pasta maker was a wonderful find and a big blessing. Now I can make fresh pasta for our whole family, and nobody has to worry about running out. 😊

Our home flock of 13 pigeons were waiting for us when we got back from the feed store and happily snacked on the handfuls of feed, I sprinkled on the driveway for them before I refilled the feeders in the rock wall. They have such pretty colours when the sun hits their neck feathers, like this emerald-green and purple one closest to the bottom right of the picture. 😊

The old year ended with two of our dogs, Tiny and his dad Dakota, taking off into the woods during a walk and being gone for a very stressful 11 and 12 days respectively. When they were finally found and brought home, they were both a lot skinnier than when they left, with a bit of frostbite on their paws, but overall, quite well considering how long they were gone and how bad the weather was while they were out on their adventure. The new year started off with my husband going to work and bringing home the plague, thanks to his boss and his family. Now we’re finally seeing the end of our sickness here after three long weeks of never leaving the property. Thankfully, because we almost ran out of chicken feed, oats for our cattle and bird food for all our feathered friends and had to make a run into town to restock our supplies. I managed to catch a shot one of the six deer in the field we saw on our trip down into town. 😊
image.png
Well, that was how things have been going for us here. I hope you have all had an awesome time since we last saw each other! 😊

Welcome back my friend, thanks for visiting! 😊

We are doing well here, almost back to our regular selves. I'm not the most coordinated person, so smooth activities aren't really my thing, but things are going pretty good here now. 😊

How have you been? Have you gotten the things done that you needed to just before I took my break? 😊

I hope all is well with you there and that you're in good health. 😊

God bless you. Have an awesome day my fabulous friend! 😊

I'm always happy to chat my friend, sometimes I just take a bit longer to respond. 😊

God always provides for us. God is good. 😊

I was taking a break from all social media for a while as I found I was spending more time online than in real interactions and as that didn't sit well with me I decided to take a break and reconnect with people in person. 😊 Our two adult children and their families mostly, but also a few close friends that we'd not spoken to in quite a while. 😊

What are those numbers at the end of your message? 😊
