#4 Gridcoin Faucet Donation
Everything I collect with this post will be donated to the faucet!
Why donations are important
Gridcoin is growing recently and new users are joining every day. If a user wants to start mining he has to send a beacon which costs a small amount of Gridcoins. Even if the worth of the Gridcoins the users need is extremely small this is an obstacle for new users. A faucet helps new users to get started fast and completly for free. There is no need to signup or to beg for a donation.
Gridcoin has two faucets at the moment: 1, 2.
Both faucets have distributed large amounts of Gridcoin to the community. The operators pay for the Gridcoins themself. But faucets are important for the Gridcoin community so the community should support the faucets!
Past donations
This is the fourth post with wich I hope to collect steem dollars to donate to the Gridcoin Asia Faucet. You'll find the other posts here: 1, 2, 3.
Thanks to all the upvoters I was able to donate about 363 Gridcoins to the faucet.
Newest donation
I included the payout of this post because the amount was too low for a rain it on the world community grid crunchers.
I traded the collected steem dollars on bittrex for bitcoin.
And then I traded the bitcoins for Gridcoins also on bittrex.
Finally I sent the Gridcoins to the address of the Gridcoin Asia Faucet.
You can find the proof that I actually sent the coins here.
Future ideas
I will make a post like this every 10 days or so when I find the time to do that. Everything I collect with this post will be donated to the faucet!

more faucets:
P.S.
Thx for sharing
As far as I know eobot only offers a BTC faucet...And GRC can be withdrawn if it's more than 100 coins. Not useful for beginners...
but thanks for the twitter info...didn't know that!
Nope, Eobot offers a GRC faucet, I use it - not much like .15 to .25 GRCs, but hey it's something.
Thx
Oh so my bad... thanks for the info!
Yeah, but as grider123 mentioned, the minimum amount to withdraw is 100 GRC. With an average of ~0.15 GRC that you get there, you have to visit that site for the next 666 days (1 year and 10 months) - every day (!). I also accumulated ~3.5 GRC there but then realized that it's pointless / not worth the time...
I also think their faucet is every 6 hours, not once a day - but I could be wrong.
They they give you a free coin each day - usually a DODG coin and you can accumulate those to buy server computing space.
For people asking about faucets, you so do complain a lot about people giving you free coins. What are losing by not being able to withdraw and getting free DODG coin to be able to buy computing power? If the coin is going to experience capital appreciation, it's going to have capital appreciation there too.
You get ~0.15 GRC only daily, not every 6h. And yes, an additional DOGE coin for logging in.
You're right; it's better than nothing. But I'd prefer the other faucets that pay out immediately. Waiting 666 days (~500 days if you convert your DOGE to GRC) seems a bit too ambitious ... And: GRC might become more valuable, so they'll likely give away less over time.
Interesting aspect to re-invest the received coins directly into (their) mining. But as far as I understood, cloud mining is not profitable. Have you used their calculator?
Supposedly there is a break-even point with the cloud mining. Looking at my transaction history, you're probably right re: not profitable:
I deposited 600 coins a year ago and bought some cloud mining. I probably log in every other day on average and get the DODG and faucet and I'm only back to 187 coins.
Good luck as i have used the faucet as well.
Its not much but ill send an sbd your way for the cause
Thanks for the sbd! Will donate it too :)
Faucets are a great source of coins for new starters but are completly reliant on donations.
