Groundhog Day prediction 2018 : early spring or winter for next two months !!

Punxsutawney Phil is a groundhog whose burrow is at Gobbler’s Knob.
If Phil sees his shadow, there will be six more weeks of winter. If he does not see his shadow, warm weather is near and spring will arrive early.
This is the belief which originated in 1887, when a newspaper editor from Punxsutawney, Philadelphia, declared that the town has weather-predicting groundhogs.

Groundhog Day is a popular tradition celebrated in the United States and Canada on February 2. It derives from the Pennsylvania Dutch superstition that if a groundhog emerging from its burrow on this day sees a shadow due to clear weather, it will retreat to its den and winter will persist for six more weeks, and if he does not, due to cloudiness, spring season will arrive early.
Today is the groundhog day, and according to the abovesaid belief, the officially announced prediction is EARLY Spring and not winter for next two months.

Punxsutawney Phil could not catch the glimpse of his shadow and therefore this prediction is made regarding the weather.
