Are you a Nigerian and you haven't heard of Project Bigwaves then you have been missing a lot. Project Bigwaves, an initiative by steemit veterans @donkeypong, @hanshotfirst, and @infovore. The project is visioned at supporting the growth of Nigerians on steemit.

The steemit virus is composed of Nigerian curators @fisteganos, @ogoowinner, @ehiboss, @destinysaid and @gbenga.

looking at this post Nigerians on steemit is said to have risen to a population of 16,231 steemians and from this the #nigeria tag is said to have 477 posts, 374 comments and 8,515.453 SBD as authors reward.

Comparing the two posts and the vision for #bigwaves, the total number of Nigerian steemians using the #nigeria tag is about 3% of the total population.

Project Bigwaves is not meant for a particular set of Nigerians, it is meant for every Nigerian provided you comply with the project's guidelines

The Guidelines

For posts to be eligible for curation by Project Bigwaves, a few guidelines need to be adhered to. The following are a few of them:

Posts must be by Nigerian authors only. This project has been setup to grow the Nigerian community and so we will be focusing on Nigerians only.

Only original content. Please make sure sources are linked properly. Plagiarism is strongly frowned upon so if you just "copy and paste", you shouldn't expect to get any reward.

Posts must have the #nigeria tag. Using this tag makes it possible for the curators to find your posts. It is very important so make sure to use it.

A single author may be upvoted only once every 24 hours. This is to make sure that the reward is spread evenly across the board.

The higher the quality of your post, the higher the power of our votes! We are not out to reward just anything but quality. The better the quality, the better for the community.

We would not be voting on any post @cheetah or @steemcleaners comments on.

Moreso, project bigwaves is interested in helping Nigerians to improve their writing skills and the Nigerian curators have been working on several projects in other to help nigerians improve in this aspect.

The main purpose of writing this post is to spread the gospel of using the #nigeria tag to every Nigerian on steemit. In other to accomplish this, I want to implore Nigerians to spread the gospel of using the tag. This will help the curating easier and more effective.

I"ve had a great post thought I'll be doing at some point. My neighbours are Nigerian and I was invited to a party there once. What an experience!!! This white guy doesn't know :) Anyway, I understand I'm not Nigerian so don't expect anything from project Bigwaves. Question is can I still use the Nigerian tag or will that not be cool??? Upvoted and resteemed. Thanks to @stellabelle for resteeming.
