GST Dept. arrests Businessmen for fraudulently issuing Input Tax Credit invoices of approx. Rs.201 Crores.

On 1st August, 2018 Central GST Delhi West Commissionerate arrest 2 Businessmen based in Rohini, Delhi for fraudulently issuing Input Tax Credit (ITC) invoices of app. Rs.201 Cr. The ITC invoices were issued without actual supply of goods involving tax evasion related to Plastic Granule Industry.

Both the businessmen were arrested under Section 69(1) of the CGST Act,2017 based on the documents found at several places during investigation.

In addition, it was revealed that the businessmen had floated multiple entries for issuing such fake invoices.

This is the start the GST dept. has started to stop the fake entries of turnover.
