Guam to play Philippines in the Senior Little League championship

On the coaching staff with McDonald are Head Coach Vick Fernandez, and Assistant Coach Vince Carbullido.

The winning team in the ASPAC Regional Tournament, which runs from June 23 to June 29, will go on to the Senior Little League World Series in Eastley, S.C. from July 29 to Aug. 5.

"Our aces will be stepping up and we expect a low scoring game," said McDonald.

The Guam team previously played the Philippines in this tournament and won by one run, 5-4on Saturday, after being down 4-0 after three innings. Guam also beat Saipan 5-3 the day before, but lost to them three days later, 10-5.

The Philippines played Saipan on Tuesday, June 27 and won 10-6, sealing Guam's place in the 'ship.

"They went two rounds with the top two teams playing in the championship game," said Carbullido.

The team is thankful for their supporters and their sponsors who made it possible to attend the tournament including Westco, 7-day Supermarket, WM Engineering, Cost U less, Mayor Paul McDonald and Mayor Jessy Gogue.
