Guns and Society

Every few months you see it flash across our TV screens someone has decided to let loose their inner demons or they have snapped and decide to kill multiple people. Its America people it is sad to say. We hear the spin doctors and experts blaming guns, mental illness, not enough background checks, and anything else except for the real issue, the erosion of society and disregard we have for each other. Guns are tools, guns are weapons, and guns need people to use them, you can background check out of anyone and everyone you want, if they never had a criminal conviction there will be nothing found to prevent them from buying a gun. Besides that if you really want a gun and you have an issue keeping you from getting one the legal way, there are other ways, criminals don’t obtain guns after getting a background check! We meaning me and anyone reading this are the only ones capable of preventing someone from losing it, meaning they don’t have to have a mental illness, they could just be over stressed even just for that day, we have to take time to take notice of each other and recognize we are all in the struggle not just the people we see on the TV. The person sitting next to you, a coworker, a cop, a neighbor all of us. If society doesn’t take time to take notice of outright mental issues what chance is there at noticing subtle mental instability. If we are not paying attention, or engaging each other, even maybe just talking to each other if not indiviually as a group in open group therapy we miss opportunities to help possibly stabilize indiviuals who may be on the path to hurt others. The world moves so fast today time is flying, social media is not social its hey look at me entertainment look at how I want you to see me not as I am. Whether it be sudden mental instability or a life time medical issue we have to start seeing each other. Losing it in society today is easy, trying to juggle the hundreds of things we have to keep up with daily just to try to look normal, let alone if you are in a relationship being aware of your partners mindset, plus the personalities of everyone you work with, and everyone else you come into contact with. You have to take time to know if folks are on center, not shooshing them along as you interact. I can tell you it takes some strength to mentally be on center these days I will use myself as an example I have bills, I am married, I have a daughter whose decisions I try to influence to make her life easier, I have debt, and past issues that still require resolution, let alone health issues, but I don’t dwell on them, my mental center is the plan fact that I am doing better than some others and my situation could be worse, so just trying to make my situation better is my mental center. I have no desire to cause death pain and destruction to anyone else. You have to look at people and see if this is there mentality. The solution for killing is an eye for an eye, for malicious or deadly harm with intent the penalty should be death, this should give folks with a sudden mental stress or judgement lapse a mental stop sign. It was the way of the old west it is the current way of society now if someone threatens someone with a gun and there is another armed person around they will usually confront the armed person, and the situation at that moment is we can both kill each other is that where we want to be, it’s not a question it is what it is, and to pull a gun on someone instantly says I can harm or kill you meaning I have no respect or regard for you or your life, That’s what wrong with America and if we don’t learn to respect the life of one another we will keep repeating out every couple of month news cycle of someone killing multiple people with no regard. It doesn’t have to be with a gun it can be with a knife, a car, and a bomb or whatever. As Ellen says be kind to one another.
