What is your thoughts about this? How far to they have to run on this beach before they hit the waves?

hahahah probably not too far... I am sure it would be a fun morning job. Should we test that out?

We are just about ready to roll out Steemhost.com (right click and open in new tab)

While there are still cosmetic issues and the entire module having to do with advertising, we are only days away. Once the mods are in place this would allow groups of people to create their own online magazine. Eventually I want it to look like this:

http://lindsayadvocate.ca/

Imagine that you decided to create a Sydney Nightlife Magazine. You would contact your teamaustralia_sydney group and they could approach businesses to contribute articles specific to the topic on a regular basis. As a group you would be able to hit up these local businesses to advertise on this site. The contributors would receive payment via the normal steem ways but the "magazine" would be entitled to a new stream of revenues. What makes this different from existing magazines is that this advertising revenue can now be directed to the visitors as well. The site will pay people to read the content.

Ironically once a certain level of equity is built up in the system, steemhost will be able to delegate steem to the advertisers as well (this is for future development). I haven't thought out the full details yet but there would be a clear inducement for people to advertise on the site if they were paid to do so.

It might be interesting to see how much https://www.timeout.com/sydney and other sites charge for advertising. Perhaps a graduate from marketing could research the topic...
