@dan Taking On @haejin ! Over 300 000 SP delegation to @haejin from @ranchorelaxo
@dan (The architect behind Steem blockchain) is taking on @haejin ! Obviously Dan Larimer does not approve the poolreward abuse from @haejin and is showing other whales the way to preserve this platform !
Haejin on the other side is compensating with volume - in the last 24H he has posted 10 articles with Technical Analysis ! These 10 posts are currently generating 1500$ or in other words 3000 USD after curation.
All of this is happening despite the multiple downvotes from other whales. @ranchorelaxo definitely has @haejin's back and it seems like all the whales combined can't beat this duo. Heck it seems like 80% of Steemit can't beat this duo. I think the downvotes by @dan can be a gamechanger, because people have so much respect for him and they might follow his lead and to their part.
It might be interesting to see the delegations on the @haejin account. You can see all delegations info at http://www.steemreports.com/delegation-info/?account and what we reveal is that @ranchorelaxo has delegated 614 MVests to @haejin ( 1 MV is approximately equal to 500 SP) 614 x 500 = ~ 302 000SP.
So @ranchorelaxo upvotes every post of haejin (every vote of ranchorelaxo is worth 187$ ) and has delegated ~302 000 SP. There is something very fishy here and Steemians have a very good reason to be mad at this duo.
I would like to mention that there are people, who have dedicated a lot of time and effort to fight against this. I first became aware of the problem from a post of @berniesanders. When this became viral I saw more and more people get involved in the war. I have also seen that @hendrix22 has made it his mission to bring this guy down and I don't think he is backing down until something in @haejin behaviours change.
@transisto wrote an Open letter to @Ranchorelaxo and @Haejin.. Haejin answered the open letter but in my mind his arguments weren't good enough so the downvotes from @transisto continue. @sneak is also extremely active on the downvote front ! Kudos to all of them for fighting the good fight :)
There is a regular update from @flagawhale in this "quest". There you can see the most active downvoters from whales to minnows. @sneak / @fulltimegeek / @gandalfthebrown /@randowhale / @thejohalfiles / @transisto / @grumpycat and so on. You can see the full list below HERE

no one can adequately stop 2 whales from abusing the system - this is a major flaw in the entire economic model that no one seems to understand how to fix "just flag them!!" etc. This means steemit will be nonviable long term as it can clearly be monopolized by a few users for their own personal gain - which isn't against the rules - just a bad economic model and goes against everything steemit is supposed to stand for - decentralization of wealth, ownership etc. if two users can amass so much steem power then they actually own the equivalent % of the steemit network.
Exactly this.
But I would also add that this extremely abusive behaviour is also bad for the network's price too!
For instance, what if they just decide to "shitpost" and upvote each other? They would have the monopoly over rewards independently of the opposite 99.9% of the Steemit community,.
And whole Steemit will be filled with no valuable content. Which in term will make people drop the platform entirely.
nothing wrong with shitposting - I do it all the time :P
Quality shitposting? :D
No...its shit.
Yeah.. and i think its already being done by some people..
i agree with you 100%.. this flaw is being exposed now and it will start showing its results more and more with the passage of time.
Anyone who gets serious steempower can put "MARTIAL LAW" on steemit. That should not be allowed. i believe that someone, someday will come up with a solution but right now, its a flaw and its wide open to be used as an abuse.
i usually don't comment on any big steempower guy because that might bring in out of the shade and who know, someone decides to flag me. so actually this system is doing is that it is restricting people more and more to express their views.
That's another problem with the whole flag system - if you flag someone, they just flag you back, so no one flags. It's so stupid.
I think it is pretty obvious that haejin and rancho are the same person.
I really doubt that. If he was indeed @ranchorelaxo he would have used all this power in his battle with @berniesanders ! No way they are the same person.
I think @ranchorelaxo is owned by @haejin.
I really doubt that. If he was indeed @ranchorelaxo he would have used all this power in his battle with @berniesanders and the rest ! No way they are the same person.
I think he don't want to use rancho to flag because this would make his investment not payout

Will it ever end?
Crazy tho, one of those massive upvotes on another minnows profile would do massive work towards boosting this platforms economy and yet they blow each other with upvotes. Other people have interest to grow their account as well to share their curation power around like I do quite often.
Yea, i follow a handful of profiles consistently, but I am also constantly wading thru the sea of shit posts, finding decent pieces of work, and crediting where credit is due. It sucks my upvote is worth shit compared to others who only care to make themselves more and more money.
I would love to show my human friends that this platform actually works! Because they would all come a runnin for the Steemit platform! Lots and lots of people, but nah we got to deal with this shit. Like we are in high school, but over the internet.
EXACTLY!!! I brought over 60 people into Steemit when I joined, and I've tried my damnest to help them all and to help other newbiew.... but because apparently I keep upvoting too much, and because my posts get so few views and upvotes.... my vote is literally worth pennies. .... and with that, I really can't help anyone!!
d
Steemit rules of the game have to change or it'll go down. At the moment power gain is stuck in a positive feedback loop which always inevitably leads to one-winner monopoly and then self destruction. Read up on your Game Theory folks!
The second big problem is the flagging system. Who in Hell thought it a good idea to give users the power to actually take away other users money and reputation? What were you trying to create here folks, Battle Royale? Lord of the Flies?
Jayzus a first year psychology or sociology student could have told you exactly where the things would inevitably go wrong and why.
/wanders off muttering incoherently...
Absolutely ! If someone upvoted me with 200 Dollars for one of my posts, I would be extatic ! These guys can really do wonders but they choose to serve only themselves. Lol !
My vote is also worth next to nothing, but I think with consistency and good quality this will change in the near future ! Keep doing your thing, man and it will definitely grow :)
The people I have shown Steemit stop using it after few days on the platform. They don't like how people serve only their interest. They have right tghough..
I hope it gets better. Thanks for your input !
Hear, hear!
@ranchorelaxo could have been the greatest supporter, philanthropist, curator, etc. on Steemit, but he chose to circle jerk with haejin for his own purposes.
Clearly, not someone looking for legacy, but short-term massive gains.
Or maybe he has finally found some valuable content to support? He was silent for half a year before he started to upvote @haejin's content.
Let's think about this for a moment.
Haejin makes about 10 posts a day. Suppose he sleeps for 8 hours and awake for 16. You are telling me he's churning out quality "content" every 1 hour and 36 minutes? I think we should do a plagiarism check.
Valuable content? More like, "I can get my Steem Power worth back in less than 2 years by running this platform down to the ground". Because you know, TA is the only valuable content.
You'd have to be a sociopath to be mindlessly obsessed about some random updates by a very specific user every 90 minutes.
If you are qualified in charts then you need 15 minutes to make that TA post without video. Or if you have seen his videos then you know that they are more like 10 minutes long on average. He does it in real time. Probably the most time consuming is to encode and upload it.
Wow, thanks for the analysis and keeping everyone posted on how this goes - upvoted/resteemed
It is interesting to watch the social aspects of how Steemit is self-regulating. In some ways it works, in others is seems still to need guardrails. Either way, a great experiment in decentralized economies.
Sure ! This is one of a kind system that surely has some flaws and a lot of benefits. What is your opinion on the current subject ?
More efforts are necessary :D
Wow, seems like things are on fire right now. You know you screwed up when the creator of the platform you're using is disapproving of your behavior. I really didn't think anything big was going to happen in a while, but here I stand corrected. The assumption that others will follow dan's example here is definitely justified.
I'm really curious to see where this is headed next, I mean in the long run I'd hope to see some improvements done to the steem block chain to make abuse easier to combat. But in the short term we're probably going to see more actions taken by berniesanders and hopefully other users as well. As someone who has only joined this platform in January I can say following this conflict is one of the most interesting things for me.
Even though haejin raises some fair points about him being constantly attacked by spam and trolls I'd say he has failed to address the legitimate concerns others have raised so far. Unless he can justify or change his behavior here I think he's bound to getting massive backlash. After all the way he currently uses the platform isn't really beneficial to anyone but himself.
He has no right to cry about spam when his follower base doesn't exist outside the posts he makes and many are bullshit accounts. For someone to troll you, there would actually have to be interaction, he's trolling us when he said shortly after appearing on the scene "I hope I get A LOT of followers" and set up the punchline to the joke that he actually ads content or spam and trollish behavior can ever be Spammed or Trolled in turn. gtfo @haejin:
I honestly don't think anyone deserves their content being attacked in such a way. I don't see all that much value in his analysis posts, but there certainly is some value to it that a few appreciate. Making racist jokes about someone is not really how I'd approach them, even if they show no sign of interest to actually take criticism or take part in a discussion.
I totally understand people disagreeing with his payout and his general use of this platform. I don't understand how being from Korea has anything to do with that. I think it's really important to have people like berniesanders who are very vocal about their dissatisfaction with the situation surrounding haejin, but I'd prefer if he wasn't also associated with harsh unrelated personal insults, spam and trolling. That said I definitely respect bernie highly for everything he's doing to try improve the platform for the majority if not all of the people.
Point taken, however, it was also very successful. Keep that in mind. It drove the man insane.
He is trying to fight the whole community at once. @berniesanders what do you think is the relation between @haejin and @ranchorelaxo ?
I'm glad somethings being done those 2 will be the death of steemit and cause the price to crash if nothing happens
Perhaps by design? Idk just throwin it out there.
So far a lot is done but the results are not that encouraging. If the whole community can't regulate 2 accounts, what kind of decentralization are we talking about. Censorship can be applied if someone has 10-20-30 Million to spend on SP. It really makes people leave the platform.
Yes, this is by design and I think the creators were hoping that the community will be mature enough to efficiently regulate itself. So far, not good. Will see what happens.
Evil - in the form of greed - will always exist among man. I feel this sometimes to be very true.
I think this picks up on a really important distinction. The structure of the steem ecosystem might be decentralised, but the power is extremely centralised and concentrated. (There's a whole political rant I could go into about what this says about the 'voluntaryism' that some people here are such a fan of, but that's a post for another day.)
Without serious structural change, the only hope I can see is that if active membership is high enough, and enough minnows get together and act in unison, they can demonetise whale posts and push their chosen witnesses higher - even of they cannot always drop a whale's reputation.
It's not censorship if the data is available to everyone and nobody can stop you from commenting curating or posting. The fact that one account can power up a considerable amount would quadruple the price if it's all done at once, but yes they could spend all their money on being selfish or even worse, shitting on people's work.
