Cedarvillian Hallowe'en: Spoooky Kittens and Pumpkin Guts!

Happy Hallowe'en! The day after....

 Ahh, Steemit. How busy I have been, and how neglected you still are. 

I have not forgotten about this lovely website though, perhaps I am just storing up the content for when the writing flows better. And, to my delight, it has not snowed yet.... I am oddly excited, and nervous, for it to snow. It means more excuses to sit inside and craft and write, but also much harsher conditions. Though, it is raining like crazy and snowing at the tip of the mountain right now, so it might not be long until it snows and sticks to the ground.

Let us hope not though, because it is only just November! The more outside time the better, its not like there is a lack of shit to get done out there.

Our Halloween was pretty quiet, although we had a party last weekend. We also experienced a tragic lack of candy and costumes. More so tragic was the lack of candy though, to me at least. We had a pumpkin carving contest anyways! To take a good break from the preparations and celebrate well the weather was crap. We do not get trick or treaters way up here anyways.

Ryan, Tasha, Lance and I gathered after dark in the big cabin, our communal space, and we all brought pumpkins too! The other people up here lacked pumpkins, and motivation to carve them, so they just came and went. Only one of the pumpkins was homegrown.... something I will have to succeed at more next year, because I really love pumpkins! I will be eating this one tomorrow.

We did not dress up, because I figured it was a lazy Halloween and I have been too distracted to care. Luckily, Tasha was a scary librarian giraffe, and Lance decided to carve his pumpkin to be a helmet! So at least we had a couple costumes! I wish I had my peacock onzie, because that would be really funny. The weird creativity is alive and well here. Our kitten Casca tried out the pumpkin helm as well! Maybe next year we will have a costume contest AND a pumpkin carving contest!

I also am very excited to eat these pumpkins. There is no one around to see them, so I think I will do a spooooky kitten photoshoot with them and then cut mine up to bake with! The seeds, obviously, are roasting on our fire. And Tasha is going to sacrifice her pumpkin to the goats, because apparently they like that and will stomp on it.
