Philips Lighting (Euronext Amsterdam ticker: LIGHT), a global leader in lighting, announced the completion of the latest lighting icon of Nht Tân Bridge in Hanoi, Vietnam on July 19, 2017.

The lighting project undertaken by Philips Lighting along with its local partners Sun Group and Olympia Co., Ltd., has illuminated the jewel with a spectrum of colored light, which transforms the bridge's appearance into an ever-changing artwork.

The technology used in this project is Philips ColorReach Powercore Gen2, Philips ArchiPoint 25W, Philips iColor Powercore. Lighting is controlled with Philips ActiveSite.

The latest architectural lighting illuminates five magnificent bridge spans and cables that cross high over the bridge. Now, everyone who passes through the Red River of Hanoi will find five colors lying on the bridge, which is the symbol of the five ancient gateways to the capital.

Built in 2015, this bridge is the longest cable-stayed bridge in Vietnam, a more sophisticated technology than the suspension bridge technology.

"As an important and striking infrastructure connecting Hanoi with its main airport, the recently illuminated bridge has been the centerpiece of tourists and locals," Philips Lighting management said in a press statement received by Bisnis on Saturday (22/7/2017).

Nht Tân Bridge uses Philips ActiveSite's cloud-based lighting management system to monitor, maintain and manage its lighting system remotely.

The light dot that runs along the bridge uses Philips Color Kinetics, which can display 16.7 million different stunning colors and allows bridges to be irradiated with special colors to commemorate events and holidays.

Philips Lighting says a new, more durable LED system is used in this bridge, capable of saving up to 75% energy and saving on operational and maintenance costs.

In the world, other famous icons already touched by Philips Color Kinetics technology are Empire State Building, Bay Bridge, Edinburg Castle, London Eye, Kirikkale Nur Mosque, Allianz Arena, Victoria Falls, Pyramids, Taipei 101 Tower and Dragon Bridge in Denang.

In Indonesia, Philips Color Kinetics technology is used to illuminate the National Monument and Bunderan Hotel Indonesia in Jakarta, Jempatan Ampera Palembang, Suramadu Bridge connecting Surabaya and Madura, Gong Pacitan Cave, Gedung Sate and Pasopati Bridge in Bandung.
