RE: Sleep Tight Tonight! #171

in #happierpeople7 years ago

There's a technique I learned in India for best sleeping experience :). During the day, we go through so many experiences. Almost like a spring being wound, all this energy and emotions and thoughts pile up in us. Usually, we need sleep and dreams to work through all the emotions and thoughts that we did not attend in the daytime. That makes our sleep restless. However, if we do attend to those neglected experiences, we don't need to use our sleeping time for that and sleeping becomes a very peaceful and resting affair. Also, you'll be able to do with much less sleep! Is my experience :). So how do we unwind from our day? A really simple way to do so is to, just before sleeping, in your mind walk through your day and complete the incomplete experiences. Just your attention will be enough to do it. Just relive your day, and see if there are any emotions that come up when you relive those memories and if they come up, pay attention to them till they are completed, attended to, healed. Your awareness is enough to heal you :).
Well this is a rather long comment for replying to your post. The tips you give are great and very elaborate, and many of them I am in tune with (no eating before sleeping, not allowing yourself to go to sleep in a worried state of mind). Still, for me the above one has worked the very best. Who knows, next time you'll add it to your list of best advice for best sleeping practices? :) Thanks for your effort!
