A chance meeting of His Holiness The Dalai Lama XIV

They say that everything happens for a reason... That's most certainly true when it comes to the cause and effect theory of life... As it turns out a few days ago, before we were going to Tso Moriri Lake, we'd planned to hang out around Leh, take a ride to Hemis Monastery... But as it turned out our plan to go there changed and we decided to relax a little more and go have lunch at Cafe Cloud, part of Chamba Camp, Thiksey! Turned out, it was closed. I was like, damn, why? We rode a little further and got our answer... Many folks waiting outside the Chamba Camp hotel, some beautifully dressed, some with musical instruments and other monks in their traditional robes. Even a few locals and a few foreigners waiting patiently! As we asked, a member of Shey Monastery, we got to know that His Holiness, The Dalai Lama XIV was about to come out of the camp and head towards Shey Palace and a few other places in Leh. And that's it, what better way to spend our time than to wait to get even a glimpse of such greatness! And we weren't disappointed. While his Jeep passed away quite briskly, we managed to get a glimpse of him, with a great smile, compassion showing in his eyes and he was waving at his followers constantly smiling... A chance viewing of the great Kundun, made it even more beautiful!
