According to Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh, Happiness is less pain in life. If people can’t convert pain to energy, they can’t be happy.
Many people find Happiness from outside, but the truth that Happiness is inside of them, always existence but need to explore by themselves. In modern life, people think that if they have a lot of money, power and high position in social, they are happy. The fact shows that many people who is famous or rich still getting pain then suicide.
In the age of Buddha, Buddha and his Sangha, they had nothing but 3 black blouses and a bow, and they are very happy because they reach freedom, such a precious and priceless.
Buddha taught that the first condition of Happiness is freedom. Freedom in absolutism? It’s not. Freedom means people escape their anger, pride, jealousy, despair and delusion which are toxics in human life. When the mind is controlled by those toxics, people can’t be happy.
Wanting to escape anger, people need to practice, whether you are a Christian, a Muslim, a Buddhist, a Hindu or a Judaism. People can’t pray Buddha, Jesus, God or Mohammed take anger out of their mind. There are some methods helping to kill greed, anger, delusion, infatuation. If someone practices those methods and converts pain to other energies, he/she can help others to convert their pain.
