One Minute Power - Have you ever thought about what you can do in just one minute?

Have you ever thought about what you can do in one minute? I mean just one minute.

I only started noticing this very recently. Way before, like most people I was wasting a lot of my time even though I studied and read about being effective, time management, productivity all of those. But that really didn't work for me or I only grasped it as a concept and looking back, I don't think I really applied any of the things they said I would do. Like many people, I got lazy. I took time for granted because tomorrow comes automatically when I go to bed and wake up the next day.

Then as I got more into my passion project while working full time, I realized and noticed something. I started to get really curious about time management. You know why? Because I had so many things I wanted to do in a day. Not the things I feel like I have otherwise I would feel bad kind of things, but really the vision and the passion pulling me towards it. Then I started to really notice the time more. Be more aware of it. That lunch hour, that 30 minute after work, that 10 minute of break in office, I needed that time. I needed that time to work on my passion. Nobody was pushing me to do it. Nobody was rewarding me for it. But I sought that time. Because I had a vision. I had a goal. I had a plan. So I realized that first to really open yourself up to the concept of time and get yourself pulled into that time management, the fastest way is to have a vision, a goal and a plan in something that you are passionate about.

Then one time when I was travelling I noticed something. I was so excited and I only had 7 days there so I would voluntarily minimize my sleep, plan beforehand what I will do the next day, the next afternoon because I didn't want to waste my time. I had a deadline. Then I thought to myself, wow if I was living my every day like this when I go back home, how much I could accomplish in a day, in a month, in a year. And the second thing about time that I realized is that a bit of pressure really works for us in terms of pulling out our best abilities using the power of desire, not the power of will. That wanting to do something is so much powerful than that need to do something. That's why we always put a deadline for work and that sense of urgency really put people into action and no matter what, if they must deliver, they will deliver. Strangely but somehow we all have that power to meet our deadline. So imagine that we feel that sense of urgency every day that after this 24 hour, and really start to think about the real dead-line. Our death. Something that nobody can avoid. Our mind is already 3D. When we think back on a particular memory during our childhood, we go back to that moment, we re-live that moment and feel it as if it was yesterday. Why not use that power we all have and imagine that we only have 24 hours and ask ourselves every morning. What would I do? How would I live? What would I say? What kind of truth would I tell myself and others?

Then recently, I realized that having a better sleep regularly produces better result and is more effective than, trying to work more, reduce sleep and still function at the top. I don't know about other people. But it didn't work for me and clearly it wasn't allowing me to be in the best state for better focus and brain power. So I started to break down time slots. And suddenly came to my mind, and realized I have been literally throwing away my minutes like I throw away pennies. That one minute in between. And started to think about what I can do in a minute. And surprisingly so many things. I could take 1 minute break. And that was huge in times of crucial fatigue. I could do 2 set or more lunges in that one minute which already my thigh feels the burn. I could erase my makeup and wash my face before dinner when I come home right away which is probably 2~3 min. But because I procrastinate thinking in my head that okay I will do it after dinner. Not I want to just chill. But I'm not really chilling afterwards. Because after dinner, I am not washing and after chilling I am not washing and even before going to bed sometimes, I noticed myself still thinking about when to wash. When you actually think about it is ridiculous but it's true. Those little things that we don't do which only take a minute or two, when we don't do those, it occupies our mind for the whole evening or the whole day or every several days or longer. Find things that I can do in 1 minute or less than 5 and I noticed that doing this actually not only makes me more aware of time but also to value time more. That I learned most of us underestimate the power of one minute and when we utilize it over and over what it could do to our life. Just like compound interest. Just because it seems like we will have it forever, we take it for granted. We don't see it as the most valuable resource. Because we can create so much in just one minute. We only think in terms of grandiose scheme.

What can you do in one minute? What would you use little one minutes through out the day on a regular basis?

Just imagine, after a month, after a year, the use of those one minutes can transform our life.
