This year has been the most active hurricane season I can remember. I rambled on in thorough detail in previous posts that my husband and I are no strangers to hurricanes and floods. So, I will spare you the gory details...

Dry Out Before You Rebuild

Before You Rebuild.jpg
Seems simple enough right? Cleaning up and rebuilding after a storm can be tricky business. Depending on how long the home was underwater it can take anywhere from a couple days to several weeks for the studs and floors to be completely dry. Wall studs that look and even feel dry to the touch can still be retaining moisture. The ONLY WAY to be certain is to test with a moisture meter. This one cost about $35 and can be ordered from Walmart.com. You can wait the 3-5 days for shipping...the health and well-being of you and your family depend on it.
