Rising Early

in #health7 years ago

I have had a lifelong struggle with waking up in the morning. No matter how much sleep I got at night, getting up early has always been a torture.

Things got worse when I went to college - staying up late, partying, watching useless movies - All of this gradually turned me into a morning zombie, like the rest of my friends.

For years, I have wanted to wake up early. It seems almost all successful people start their day before sunrise, and I wanted to be one of them. But when my morning alarm would go off, all the good intentions in the world couldn’t pull me out of bed.

I knew the benefits of waking up early, I also had ideas and plans of doing something great in the morning, maybe something as simple as cooking and enjoying breakfast without being in a rush to work. But all that discipline was gone in the morning.

We have all read about multiple techniques to rise early in the morning. Also, with time, we have all understood that waking up early has nothing to do with alarm clocks. Then what will push me out of bed?
The only thing that can push me out of bed, is a clear mindset of why I want to wake up early in the first place.

Trying to reason here -

When I have an early flight to catch, and it is an expensive flight or I don’t have money to book another flight for myself if I miss the morning one, I don’t miss it. I do everything in the world to reach the airport 2 hours prior. Similarly, set a task/goal for the next morning/day.

Having goals gives us the boost, whenever we want to surrender to the infamous snooze button. The more emotions we add to our goals, the bigger the leverage will be. Not only for waking up but for everything else in our lives.

So every time I go to bed now, I make an exciting to-do list for the next day - which includes writing a blog for steemit in the morning, before I leave for work :)

Hey there! first of all Great to know you!

I've been having trouble with the same issue. almost tried everything, from healthy eating, meditation, morning journal... whatever you can think of and more! I think it all comes to being accountable.. so far i am only accountable to myself when it comes to waking up early.. NOT A SMART CHOICE!!

I've been toying with the idea of an online support group of like-minded people in Steemit, those who are "small minnows" like me. where we encourage each other to not only write but achieve personal objectives. Afterall, people are more accountable to other's than themselves.

Hi, thanks for coming by!
It is a great idea. Would love to be a part of it :)
