Prehospital care English
Hi to all these good people of steemit as they are today I bring you a very interesting topic that I want to share with each and every one of you from my work experience and knowledge acquired during my profession such as pre-hospital care or attention medical, but before starting to nurture very important knowledge for everything, such as helping a patient, we must be very clear that we will not be able to act in the same way.
To begin we must know that they are first aid:
What are first aid?
First aid consists of the immediate attention that is given to a sick, injured or injured person in the place of the events, before being transferred to a medical or hospital center.
The moment of patient care we must take into account 3 very important thing if we are not professional in the area, we must first verify the area where the patient or the victim is that the site is totally safe for both the person providing the help and for the selected to avoid further human loss, second call the Pre-hospital assistance service or ambulance failing indicating the location of the accident leaving name and telephone number so that the service can have contact with the person while it arrives at the site, third if let's help the victim we must clear the area to avoid the bystanders that can hinder the work and thus avoid that more lectioned, we must use our personal protective equipment.
Taking into account this first step we proceed to make the evolution of the patient or victim that would be the primary evolution: check if the patient is aware, talk to him and identify with him so that he knows that we will help him, in case he does not have his eyes open and do not respond to the call of you proceeds to pinch your shoulder slightly to see what kind of reaction you have but has no response to purify your eyes by raising to see if the vision reacts to see the retina to see if it dilates.
Secondary patient evaluation: check your breathing and pulse
Central pulse
The carotid arteries, located on both sides of the Adam's apple in a small depression, in the throat; to feel it press lightly with the index and major fingers, never with the thumb (we would feel our own pulse). The femoral arteries, located in the inguinal region, in the root of the thigh. We feel the pulse in our fingers.
Peripheral pulse
Other places to identify the pulse can be the radial arteries, on the outer side of the wrist. Less recommended because in case of accident and loss of consciousness, the blood is redistributed to the vital organs, and not to the extremities so sometimes this method can be misleading.
To listen to the patient's breathing, we approach the face of the ear and listen whether or not breathing, we can also place the hand but it is not recommended since at the moment we must use personal protective equipment and with the lates glove we can not feel its repair 100%, after checking pulse and breathing we proceed to examine the victims from head to toe to know where the lesson or possible lacerations (fracture). The revision of the patient should be done with the tips of the fingers always taking into account not to affect the lesson anymore we observe the face of the patient to know where the pain is and to know the site of the lesson when it is not visible once the lesson is located we proceed to immobilize the patient, in case of having a wound we look for a piece of cloth (shirt, cloth, savannah, etc.) to make the pressure in the wound while the medical or pre-hospital service arrives.
We must always bear in mind that in any case we must be sure of wanting to help the person and for everything we have to be calm, safe and calm so we provide security to the person we are going to help and then reassure the patient and keep him calm.
We must always have our personal protective equipment and something to provide the necessary help as it is: lates glove, gauze, elastic bandages, band-aid, sanitary napkins, gerdex or hydrogen peroxide, extrude earwig or any scissors, adhesive, alcohol, cotton.
Well my steemit people here I leave a very important information my next blog or publication will talk about the wound, types of injuries and how we should do to avoid both bleeding and immobilize the wound, I hope you liked this short information and I count on your vote my people…
