Has your sex life hit a bump in the road? Could it be your partner is away or not feeling good? Could it be that you are taking some time to travel and see the world? Maybe you're even going through a breakup. Everyone goes through sexual problems from time to time. Yes it might suck that you're not getting any and having sexual frustrations, but it actually turns out that not having sex has a reaction to our bodies. Here's ten things that happen when you go without having sex for long periods of time.

~ You Get Sick More Often
º Dr. Cory B. Honickman states that our immune system gets weaker when you stop participating in sex. Want to avoid having the flu or getting a cold? Have more sex.

º Also according to Dr. Honickman, you can get more anxious because there's a decrease in "feel good" hormones being released. Studies have also shown that when you are going through a sexual problem, you have a harder time dealing with stress inducing situations.

º Men could begin to suffer from erectile dysfunction, specifically premature ejaculation. (Like they say use it or lose it.)

º On the bright side you may start having sex dreams or orgasms in your sleep. It's not the same as having sex, but it could be a nice substitute.

º You may start feeling insecure about the connection you have with your partner. With that being said, other people are going to appeal more attractive to you. That's why a healthy sex life is important.

~For Men, the Risk for Prostate Cancer Rises
º Dr. Honickman says a man's risk for prostate cancer rises if they go without sex for long periods of time. It could be more than just your immune system for men. No orgasms and tou could die, that seems pretty unfair.

~You Gain Weight
º You might not notice how many calories you burn while having sex, but you might after you stop. Light kissing burns about 68 calories per an hour, but you can burn 476 calories making out in the same time. When it comes to foreplay, hand stuff can burn about 100 calories in an hour, while oral can burn twice as much. Sex itself can burn 144 calories in half an hour, but that's if you're lazy. Changing positions and even moaning a little will burn significantly more. Which means you could be burning around 1,200 calories a week if you have sex three or four times according to Womens day.

º Memory loss and absent mindedness are huge side effects of going without sex. Sex boosts the functionality of the hippocampus, which is a small part of the brain that helps with your long term memory.

º When you are sexually active, female or male, you might notice that wetness plays a big part in arousal. Sexual excitement stimulates glands that produce wetness in the vagina. If a women no longer feels turned on regularly or at all, they may experience vaginal dryness which can make sex painfull.
