RE: Yoga Postures for Common Diseases

in #health8 years ago

Hello all you wantabe yogi out there. Firstly let me say this yoga is over five thousand years old; at least. Why is yoga so popular? Well it is because yoga is not just yoga : )

Yoga is a collection of over twelve different sports that are all called yoga (this or yoga that) choose and insert your chosen yoga type name. With over a dozen types of yoga or styles, almost anyone can find a program that clicks with their mental psyche that they 'like'. That is why yoga is popular it is because their is so much related variations people can use and love.

Did you know there is a specialized form of yoga designed to lose weight using a certain combination of breathing styles ? And before you think that is just cheap marketing; yes, it has been proven to work...

So why should you NOT exercise with yoga !!! Remember you have most likely spent years getting fat and lazy, yoga is a massive exercise demand on your body. Most of the trained professionals who are teaching your class probably spent like a week earning their skills due to the huge sudden demand for new instructors.

Of course that is just the vast majority, but if you can find a truly board certified yoga instructor with decades of experience ( yes yogi instructors need licenced credentials to ) then you will obtain a truly amazing health lifestyle educator and pay a premium price as well...

Simply westerners expect instant results especially when paying with their credit card for their yoga classes. Nothing promotes a yoga class like all the new students doing down dogs and head stands on their first class type of marketing. This is why emergency rooms and health professionals are seeing a huge influx of yoga or Pilates related injuries.

The yogi models you see promoting yoga are highly trained elite athletes with years of solid training and experience and a carefully balanced routine between workouts and the care and maintenance of their injuries...

Please do not doubt the benefits of yoga ( or Pilates ) but remember you need to learn how to do these exercises smartly and safely; that shoulder stand above is surely impressive, and the real truth is your doctor will love the billing that comes from it : )

Yes yoga is great but ask yourself this my couch potato, will you survive it ???

I understand your concern. Yoga needs discipline and practice. That is why I have also said in the Post that "it is advisable that you take the help of a Trained Yoga Instructor to learn yoga asanas".

I do sincerely apologize; I love the idea of yoga and have over twelve books on yoga /Pilates. I understand your message, but I am to lazy to put in the effort and the asanas would break my poor unfit body in three places ;)

So I apologize to you yourself since it seems you love your exercises routines but with the current yoga craze I wanted to warn people of the huge permanent dangers of trying to get fit ; )

But again i never meant to tread on your toes nor your passion for such a wonderful thing as yoga; I only wish I was not so lazy as to be able to enjoy it as well . . .
