6 People You Should Follow if You're Vegan, Plant Based, or Want to be...

in #health7 years ago

So it's no secret that the vegan and plant based community on here is still pretty small - but that's okay. I have a theory that it's got more to do with the fact we don't know each other, than that we're not here. So to help kick start a group, here's a list of five people you should definitely follow if you're powered by plants.

Jac, or 'The Vegetarian Baker', has over 42,000 subscribers on YouTube, so it's possible that this is a name you've heard before. From what Jac has posted so far, it is easy to see why he's accumulated such a large following. If you like beautiful photos of vegan food accompanying delicious vegan recipes, then head over to @vegetarianbaker and click 'follow'.

Andres' blog has a very different vibe to Jac's, but it's just as important and just as interesting. @mrdlucksfitness gives tips on vegan bodybuilding as well as giving guidelines of how to get enough protein. He's also a pretty prolific content producer, so you can be quite sure his posts will show up on your feed.

Kerri's post on how to make these cinnamon rolls reeled in the upvotes, and for good reason. All you have to do is look at the photos to see that this is good food. She also resteems a lot of good content, so if you're wanting to see new vegan content, follow @kerrismiles.

Kenny's Kitchen isn't just a vegan blog, but it has some really good vegan posts. This recipe for pakoras doesn't only look delicious, but is so clearly laid out that it's easy to follow too. He's also done a post on how to make soy-free 'Soy Sauce', so if you're a 'free from' vegan, following @kennyskitchen might be worth your while.

Going by the name Herbivorous Chimp, this blog posts vegan content that is more to do with vegan news than vegan food. He talks about things like new vegan documentaries, as well as things like the Liberation Pledge. If you want to keep up with what's going on in the vegan world, @vincent4384 can help.

And finally...

ME!

Although I'm just starting out, I'm very eager to engage on Steemit, the vegan community in particular. I will be posting some more vegan stuff so if this sounds like your thing, give me a follow. If not, that's fine, but definitely check out some of the names above (y)

I am strictly vegan for 2,5 years already. It got me off severe hay fever, skin problems and even RA. I am mostly raw vegan and I love it!
Check my RA blog.
Welcome to the community!

Amazing stories, I'm sure all of them would make fab posts 👍🏻 I'll give you a follow, I'm so happy that this post is doing what I hoped it would and is getting us all in one place to find each other!

Vegans Unite! ;)

Aaaaaaaaaaaand me! I haven't talked about it yet besides mentioning I'm vegan here and there but I will address this most important of subject at some point.

Yay! Thanks for reading and I'll definitely give you a follow, would love to see some vegan content - perhaps even about what you're finding the hardest areas because I'm sure people would both relate and want to help!

This post received a 37% upvote from @randowhale thanks to @kennyskitchen! For more information, click here!

Thanks for the mention @harrietbradley! Let's get more vegans on the platform!! I was going to randowhale your introduction, but figured I'd do this one instead :-)

I just gifted you a @randowhale vote as part of an idea I'm calling #payitforward. I'm also featuring you in my newest update on #payitforward.

As you can see from this image, my 2 $BD payment to @randowhale just turned into an increase of around $9 on your expected payout (meaning 4.5 $BD & some number of SteemPower). If you were to spend just 4 of that extra $BD to #payitforward to two other posts, you would still be ahead and could give them the same kind of boost, or maybe even more :-)

Thanks for being part of Steemit, and maybe share some whale-vote love with other folks you enjoy reading, friends who join the site, or great posts you see. Check out @randowhale's introduction (linked in the comment above) and my announcement of #payitforward to learn more.

Steem on!

PS: Thanks @randowhale

Oh wow, thanks so much! Really appreciated 😄 So happy you like the post!

You're very welcome! Looking forward to building the veg community with you

This is an awesome spread. Going to check out everyone's pages out now.

Thanks, hope you find some good new follows :)

Hopefully. Trying to build it up. ;)

LET'S GET MORE VEGANS HERE

Let's get the vegan YouTube superstars #SteemTheFuckUp

Really, all the great vegan YouTube channel who struggle to make any money because of the competitiveness and the suckiness of ads would probably love it here, whether or not they really cared about cryptocurrencies

I don't know anything about cryptocurrency and i've loved it so far.

I'm getting really into crypto too! Probably a little late in the game but I've just invested in some ethereum. Another pro of crypto is that they can't put animal fat in it like they have with the new five pound notes ;) crypto is more vegan than money haha!

HAHAH that's so true. So much to learn. I just need crypto for dummies. :)

This is awesome! Exciting future ahead for all earthlings. 😄

Thanks! And yes, let's hope so 🌱

So great, just followed them all ♥ I joined Steemit a couple of days ago and I post healthy plant based recipes, too. Let's push this vegan tag to the top together to reach as many people as possible with a positive message :)

Great list of fellow vegans I love it. I'm working on creating a space for us that is all our own. My most recent post gives a brief outline of what is I'm doing for us such as a weekly E-Zine of the top posts and a lot more.
I've been vegan for 12 years and have a lot of knowledge to share in our space, but my main priority is getting us paid on a regular basis. Eventually we'll have our own crypto.
At the moment I'm creating a vegan trail via SteemTrail on discord, but as time progresses everything we have will be all ours.
Steemit is all about providing the best content on the web so following that ideal places like Mercy for Animals and PETA will be second best to Our blog & website. I am determined to make our group the first word when it comes to all things vegan.
I'm working on the whitepaper which is rather simple, but that ideas that comprise it are top shelf quality. Once the rough draft is complete I'll post it so as to get feedback on what it is my fellow vegans would like to see included.
Im a regular on the SLC vegfest planning committee as well as our hometown animal rights organization UARC (Utah Animal Rights Coalition.)
With our collective knowledge we are going to create exactly what I stated above. The first place any one goes for all things vegan.
We will be legends which will inturn pull more people into Steemit.

Wow this sounds incredible organised and positive! I'll give you a follow so I can keep up to date with what's you've got going on.

Thanks, I'm checking out those people tonight!

Brilliant, do you mind me asking if you fit into vegan, veggie, plant based, or want to be? :)
