BRAIN FOODS

Do you know the food choices you make today don’t just affect your stomach but also your brain as a whole. Yes, brain foods do matter. Our bodies don’t enjoy being stressed. Whenever we’re stressed, our brain takes more hit than we can imagine. So it is wise to know foods that affect our brains and keep us sharp and wise. We need to eat food that are better for our brains and strengthens our ability to stay focussed and manage stress effectively. I’ve put together some foods that are best for the brain.
Avocadoes
Yes, avocadoes are good for your brain even though they have high fat content. However this fat is good for you as it helps you keep blood sugar level steady and your skin fresh. It also contains vitamin K for blood clotting and foliate. It is also rich in vitamin B and Vitamin C which needs to be replenished daily.
Blueberries
A lot of people enjoy blueberries, I do too. They’ve got so many health benefits including vitamins C and K and fibre. Because they contain high levels of Gallic acid, they’re good at protecting our brains from degeneration and stress.
Broccoli
A lot of people hate broccoli but they are actually good for you despite their taste and look. They are high in Vitamin K and choline that helps keep your memory sharp.
Celery
Celery has few calories so you don’t have to worry about weight gain. It contains high levels of antioxidants and polysaccharides which act as natural anti-inflammatories and alleviate symptoms related to inflammation. It’s a great snack if you’re a vegetarian and gives a great taste in meals.
Dark Chocolate
Yes, everyone loves chocolate and I do too. Chocolate is filled with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties and help lower blood pressure and improve blood flow to both the brain and heart.
Eggs
Eggs have high protein content and has large amount of choline that helps in foetal brain development in pregnant women. It can also make you happy due to its ability to break down bethane.
Green vegetables
You cannot overestimate the benefits of eating leafy green vegetables. Getting regular supply of these will help your brain stay sharp and have a mental ability with slower rate of deterioration. When it comes to green, brain power is assured.
Tomatoes
Tomatoes contain lycopene which is a powerful antioxidant found in tomatoes and could help protect against the kind of free radical damage to cells which occurs in the development of dementia.
