The amazing things that happen to us during sleep
- We experience several cycles of sleep
First, the body goes through the first stage of slow sleep. We begin to doze, but we are still partially aware of the surrounding reality. After the second and third stages, the fast sleep phase begins. During it we have dreams.

In the fast sleep phase, the brain disconnects the neurons responsible for movement. Such a temporary paralysis is necessary for our own safety.
