As long as enough palms are greased and there is significant leadership interest, anything will be said to continue on profiting. There isn't any introspection by the people that execute these orders and watch their countrymen suffer(if they even do...maybe they are off in a jet somewhere), unless it is a decentralized-cryptocurrency-like mine the people will never share in the destruction of what they have for an imaginary thing like money. In my politics course a couple years ago we went over "expected gain in GDP per capita" of these operations, and while there was a huge influx of money typically most/all went to the corrupt officials and the people suffered in health, so often that the people were left with a negative considering all costs.

Don't let those damn pigs take your windfall apples!! It won't help them think better!! The apples are a lie!
