WE SHOULD HELP PEOPLE WITH DEPRESSION
Depression is common these days especially for teens. People who suffer from this condition knows that having depression is not easy to deal with. But what exactly is depression? It is actually a deeper state of sadness and the most serious mental illness. Having depression can change ones’ lifestyle, it will affect the person's mental health, relationship with friends and family. The worst part is suicidal tendency may surface.
What causes depression? Research tells us that other factors that contribute to the onset of depression, includes change in hormone levels, genetics, certain medical conditions, stress and grief in difficult life circumstances. Any of these factors alone may trigger serious mental illness. If you noticed that someone always wanting to isolate himself, most likely that person is suffering from depression. Wearing dark colored shirts like grey and black or the person doesn't talk too much about their mental state or they tend to skip meals or they kinda look gloomy most of the time then that person is most likely feeling depressed.
People who suffer from depression usually hide their true feelings. They may look fine but definitely hiding something deep within. Most of them are quiet and does not talk about it that much but they're seeking for help, they may push you away once you decided to help them but deep inside they wanted someone to stay and comfort them. Do not ignore the moment they decided to speak and open up about their emotions. Helping someone with depression is not an easy task but it would change their perspective in life and you can possibly be the one to save one of them from the state he/she is currently in. Who knows? You can be the source of light and the reason to keep fighting and moving on.
It's the first time I read about wearing dark-colored shirts being a sign of depression. That's true based on my experience! I think it's part of a symptom but there might be many other common behaviors indicating depression like negative talk and low self-esteem. Thanks for sharing.
