Best tasting blood type — to mosquitoes

in #health7 years ago

There are lots of reasons some people attract the buzzing biters more than others.

Maybe it’s the dark clothes you wear or your hot, sweaty skin. It could be that you are near a pool of stagnant water, or just drank beer.

I just discovered — blood type plays a role. Most people give off a signal that tells what type of blood they have. People with Type O blood are the tastiest to skeeters. People with Type A are half as likely to be munched on. And those with Type B are in between.

Can you guess the most common blood type? It’s O-positive. Nearly 40% of the population have it.

But if you have Type A — lucky you!

It is good to know if you are trying to protect from West Nile virus or Zika.

Good point. I just hiked in a small section of a park with lots of mosquitoes. I did have some repellent on, but it may have worn off. I have 2 bites as a result, and no symptoms of disease.

Interesting piece of information. It is time to use more repellant, I guess my blood is tasty.
