Minor Depression and How to Come Through It? My Opinions on Healthier Individuals and Society
There are times when we fell alone in masses. Sometimes things we used to enjoy get unsatisfying. Life gets harder and thinking of our future scares us. As a person dealing with minor depression for about a year now, I would like to share my experience, observation of myself and implications.
First things first, what is minor depression? We can divide depression into two as minor and major depression. Shortly, major depression is the worse state of minor depression and needs clinic treatment. I won’t describe major depression totally so I suggest you search more about it on the internet if you are interested. On the other hand, minor depression is the thing, what most of you have already experienced at least once when you were a teenager. Insomnia, hyper insomnia, not feeling energetic, having troubles on making decisions and focusing your mind, etc. That wicked period of your life which you really don’t want to live again.
So, what is the solution? Where is the key out? Well, here is my list.
Daily Exercise, Stretching (Especially in the morning before breakfast)
You need energy and positivity in your mind in order to be productive in your daily tasks and happy in social life (whoever you are and whatever you are doing). There are many videos on the internet. Go check them and find an exercise program, just do it :)Cycling, Tracking in Nature
Mother Nature… She will always have a solution for you. Move away from the city. Abandon all the problems. Just you and the mother. Hug a tree, step on earth with naked feet and let them absorb the negative energy inside you. This method is scientifically proven. Ever heard of a lightning rod? ;)A method to easily fall into sleep ‘’4-7-8’’
Unarguably, sleeping is one of the key aspects of our health. Lack of sleep or sleeping more than enough and lack of quality at sleeping may lead several problems. If you have problems with sleeping try this! It is an easy pie. Slowly breathe in for 4 seconds (mouth closed). Hold it for 7 seconds. Then slowly breathe out for 8 seconds. Don’t rush. Do the whole process 3 times while lying in your bed.Meditation (For me the hardest part)
There are many ways of meditating. I don’t expect you to meditate so hard and fly. This is just a way to clean up your mind. So that you can easily focus on what you are doing. I still keep trying to turn this into a routine. But with great dedication, I will manage to do one day!Learn to say ‘’thank you’’ and ‘’I apologies’’ Be polite!
What I see in today’s society is people don’t apologize. As they found an easier way which is ‘’I’m sorry’’. No, there is a huge difference between these two. Be honest, don’t you think to say I’m sorry is way easier than I apologise. I think you already understood what I mean. It’s the same for ‘’thank you’’. Don’t just say thanks. Give that awesome person a big ‘’ I thank you for your help, I wish the best for you’’. You will see the reaction of the person in front of you.
In conclusion, staying in a positive mood is the key for a healthier society. Spread your kindness. Stay positive even if your boss/lecturer is a troublemaker…
