This recipe has specific ways of doing it and ingredients to be very good...

Here's what you will need:

  • 3lb Potatoes (I used organic russet)
  • pot for boiling
  • parchment paper
  • baking soda
  • zero fat oil spray (optional)
  • seasoning/spices (I used pepper, no-salt seasoning, cumin, turmeric, cayenne, rosemary)

  1. Start boiling a pot of water, add about 1tsp of baking soda to the water. You can add salt too if you want (salt optional)

  2. While water heating up, cut potatoes wash so they look like this:

  3. When water is boiling on medium/high put potatoes in water without lid. Preheat oven to 450°F
    image

  4. The key to success with this recipe is how long you boil potatoes for! The potatoes will be done boiling when a fork cuts pretty easily through a potato:

  5. Drain the water. They should look about like this when done boiling. You can see how the baking soda adds outer crust (and flavoring)

  6. Put your seasoning , about 1-2tbsp of water, and fat free oil spray (optional) into pot. Shake the pot or stir so they look like so:

  7. Line a pan with parchment paper with the potatoes. Cover all the potatoes with the seasoning from the pot:

  8. Once oven preheated , bake for 30-45min at 450°F.

And that's it!! They taste awesome and are much healthier than others.

Despite what is said in most recipes, oil/fat is not needed for fries to taste good! The baking soda makes them taste even better as well as adds the outer crust you see!

Try it and let me know!! Like is said the key the most important thing in this recipe is how long you boil the potatoes for. Depending on how much crust outer layer depends on how long you over boil. But they have to be boiled at least long enough for fork to easily cut through them.
