A new kind of yoga?
I was told by a friend and teacher who was trained by B.K.S. Iyengar that back in the day BK would go around and command that his students press their spines up against a pointer stick. Every part of the stick needed to touch this stick and this was the definition of good posture.
Though I never received this teaching first hand, I was taught to tuck my tailbone and draw my shoulders on my back. I was instructed to straighten my spine and this was supposed to be healing. Yet .... I didn't feel good. It hurt when I did this. I tried.
I tried.
I really really tried.
And then had to go to the chiropractor as a result of trying because it was hurting my body.
Two and a half years ago, I was introduced to the new kid on the yoga block: the Bowspring method. It is an alignment system that honors that natural curves of the spine and the body. From a full and expanded rib cage, we learn how to UNTUCK the tailbone to widen the femur bones. When this is done while mounding both of the gluten up toward the sacred .... it is a LOWER BACK FREEDOM BLISS experience.
Part of what I do professionally is to get out of chronic pain ... usually lower back pain through this alignment technology. To see the awe and wonder that people experience when practicing this lifts my heart into a palpable fullness that radiates YES.
Beautiful and I love yoga and basketball.
Awesome! Than you need to def check out the Bowspring method because it will up level your b-ball game exponentially!
Agreed. Thanks.
