Make your own natural cream and use it for:

  • Burns caused by fire, heat, electricity and radiotherapy treatment (neck area from thyroid cancer)

  • Cuts, chapped lips, heels, complicated dermatoses, ulcers, skin care, skin hydration, skin infections.

  • Cracked Nipples. The original recipe (see below) is also excellent for cracked nipples, especially for mothers nursing their babies as you don't need to rinse/remove any cream residue from your nipples before breastfeeding your baby - cause its a natural product!!! beeswax + olive oil).

PROPERTIES:

  • Antiseptic, Anti-inflammatory, Antifungal, Soothing, Sedative, Moisturizing, Softening properties. It Can be applied to the whole body without limitation.

ORIGINAL RECIPE - INSTRUCTIONS

beeswax-oliveoil-honey.jpg

Mixing ratio is 1:5 (1x beeswax : 5x oil) For the sake of example we'll be using the tablespoon as the measuring unit. You could also change this for a unit of your choice being grams, ml, etc.

1 tablespoon beeswax (in solid form, grated. Not melted)
5 tablespoon olive oil

If you choose to also add Honey to the original recipe, add 1 Honey and only 4 Olive Oil.

Note: 1 tablespoon is 20 ml or 20 gram.

Beeswax
Use a cheese grater or knife and cut into small flakes to measure. Once measured, place in glass bowl and melt it using a bain marie (or pot) with hot water.

Olive Oil
(Once the wax is melted) Add the olive oil and stir until it's homogenised.

Honey
If you chose to also add Honey to the recipe, please add it after the Olive Oil.

Remove the mixture from the bain marie and put it in a sterilised jar. Let it cool down until solidified and ready to use.

Pay attention to the mixing ratio (dosage).
If you put more oil you will get an ointment with a finer texture, but will leave intense grease on your skin.
If you put more beeswax, it will become very thick and won't apply easily.

............

LIFE SPAN :
About 3-6 months in sterilised & dark jar, stored in cool shady place.

COST OF MAKING IT :
You can find this cream ready made between 5-15€ for a 40 ml jar (unknown quality).
You can make it at home (and know what you've put into it) for less than 1 €.

RAW MATERIALS :

Beeswax._
I would recommend you find the beeswax from a trusted beekeeper.
The one in stores (normally packed in granule form or wax-drops) might not be pure beeswax and contain paraffin.
Pure beeswax smells like honey, when rubbed gets softer and when burned it does not produce black smoke or smell.
Paraffin is harder, does not get as soft when rubbed and produces darker smoke and smells when burned.

Olive Oil._
Always use an Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Cold pressed (from a grower if possible)

Honey._
Always use Real, Organic and Natural honey.
