RE: I had a brain hemorrhage at age 17 - How (not) to skip finals - long-read

in #health7 years ago

OMG is this you? 😢 I 'only' have a 2CM hole in my brain and it's still impacting me daily years later. The location is different so I guess your sequelae will be somewhat different. I hope you're okay! 💛

Sort:

Yeah that's my head - MRI scan from 2002.

It did some damage but it didn't kill me like doctors said it would.

I think doctors are more dangerous than brain tumours!

Maybe I'll do a post about it sometime, but I'm not fond of talking about it

Sometimes it sneaks into art though :)

Wow there's some good stuff. I'm following you.
And I think I commented on an old post.

Maybe I'll do a post about it sometime, but I'm not fond of talking about it

I have a paradoxal thought about it. I don't like to (literally) talk about it either. But I find that (re)writing about it brings me joy when I realize how far I have come. Back then I had problems like "I can't walk". Now I have the same problems as most people around me. Like "ack it's monday".

Plus, I really really wish someone wrote that story for me to read. So I feel good about putting it somewhere semi-anonymous. As long as I don't have to speak words or look someone in the eye while I'm tearing up, wondering if speaking about it makes it happen again (for doctors have indicated it's a possibility).

I'm encouraging you to do a post about it, but I completely understand the disinclination (I hope that word is the correct one) to do so.
