RE: Colloidal Silver Is Antibacterial & Antiviral, Making It A Safe Treatment for Pink Eye

in #health7 years ago (edited)

This works, but the eye has a 'normal biota' that would be disrupted by antibiotics [prescribed or 'natural' ones like colloidal silver.]
Breast milk rapidly treats conjunctivitis. Homeopathy also does a wonderful, rapid job.
Yep, if you were going to use antibiotics like Chloramphenicol ... then colloidal silver would be vastly superior ... but even natural antibiotics can produce dysbiosis in any part of the body exposed to the antibacterial agent.
As a 90% microbe biome [each one of us is one of these :-)], I'm wary of using any type of antibiotic.

Breast milk is a fantastic remedy! Thankfully we have a nursing mother on hand who is willing to give us a squirt in the eye when we need it...not everyone has access to that though.

Correct! I had breast milk for 13 years straight. I used to even use it on the hamster's eye infection! lol. You can also use raw cow's milk [which is what I used once I had none of my own]. Even better if you have a lactating friend. :-)
