Wherever he is, its always been a nature to every people to love eating. We are what we eat. Eating reflects our personality, mood and perhaps, appearance. In fact, eating is a part of our daily routine, otherwise, we cease to exist!
Fine! Lets stop beating around the bush, eating can be something harmful.
Though we have to make our stomach full, still we must be very vigilant, through and cautious in choosing the food that we take.
The World Health Organization (WHO) suite of health studies is working to provide the needed health and well-being evidence through a variety of data collection platforms, including World Health Survey. It is also a specializad agency of the United Nations (UN) that acts as a coordinating authority on international public health and was established on April 7, 1948.
Recently, they have come up with the top ten lists of worst foods found all over the globe. Unfortunately, seven of these named foods are found! Its unexpected right? But this is the bitter reality. These foods are already knownto be a diet.

1. ) French Fries
Eating my value meal at my favorite fast food chain will never be complete without having some French fries. Its one of my favorite menus most especially if its served hot and crispy. Uhmm! Yummy! I love it more when it is dipped in a hot chili sauce. Perfect! However, this delicious long, thinly-sliced potato contains 200 mg of oil, enough to become the number one cause of heart diseases.
So, want a piece?
2.) Ice Cream and Doughnut
Its break time and everyone is racing towards the cafeteria. There are lots of tasty foods to choose from and my choices are those mouth watering ice cream and creamy sugar-filled doughnuts. I always love them. They complete my "merienda" (snacks). But, oops! These two can actually ruin my healthy diet because both contain high amount of calories and is harmful for those diabetics out there. They can also be responsible for increase of blood sugar count. And worse, they can turn you fat and ugly!
Thats eew!
3.) Hamburger
Burger machines and food chains have already sprouted almost in every corner of the street. Some are even offering "buy one take one" burger promos. Good for us because the more burgers to avail the better! But watch out! That scrumptious burger patty contains fats and high dosage of oil which are very dangerous to our body. There can be a major reason for hogh blood pressure or hypertension or heart disease leading to stroke, heart attack or even death.
So guys, would you still want a bite?
4.) Iced Tea
Before I get choked up with my favorite meal, I make sure that I have cold dark iced tea on the table. I prefer drinking this refreshment over others during break time pairing it with a velvety doughnut or a piece of burger. But wait! Isn't it harmful to me, since one of ingredients is Tartrazine that provides color to drinks. It can cause asthma, migraines, hyperactivity and skin rashes. It has also been found to cause a deficiency in other vitamins and minerals. It also contains synthetic Vitamin C that can cause kidney stones, gout, arthritis and ulcer, and can even cause heart disease.
So, what's your order water, or ice tea?
5.) Instant Noodles or Canton
Oh, I really love eating this every morning, recess, afternoon and evening. Its really irresistible and luscious I just cant help serving it for myself. Its very easy to cook and practical. However, eating too much of this can kill us! Instant noodles and cantons also contain preservative called borax, a material containing heavy metal boron or formalin? These can accumulate in the human body and are carcinogenic, which in the long run lead to diseases such as cancer and tumors.
So I have to minimize eating just before these preservative eat me whole!
6.) Junk Food
Watching a movie with my special someone or having a movie marathon at home is quite incomplete without a pack of "chippy" and I make sure its red barbecue flavor. Oh boy! I cant stop myself from having a bite. This crunchy cracker in my mouth takes away my boredom while watching my favorite Hollywood movie. I sometimes chomp on this when having chitchat with my pals. They, too, like it. However, if ingredients make junk food appealing, it is the same reason that it makes them health hazardous too. Its fat contents have high cholesterol level which is known to set off blood pressure, stroke and heart diseases in a chain.
For God's sake I dont want to die, so I'll stop eating junk!
7.) Sweetened PORK "TOCINO"
Ever since, eating sweetened pork or what do most Filipino call it as tocino is my choice. I always want it to be present on the table during dinner. I just cant help but get pieces of it. Its tasty and it surely can satisfy ones hunger. This is also what I served for my visitors at home and they actually got interested with the menu. But tocino actually contains a chemical called potassium nitrate or salitre used as a meat tenderizer for products like tocino, chorizo, barbecue, etc. this has been banned by BFAD for use in food processing because of its harmful effects especially for people susceptible to it. This could cause a medical condition called methemoglobinemia or Met h-b, a rare blood disorder that may be caused by an inherited or congenital condition, exposure to toxins, especially nitrates, or dehydration that could be fatal. Plus, the fact that pork itself can pose threat to everybody.
So, would you like it sweet or sour?
It is not bad to eat if we consider them nutritious and green. Of course, as individuals, we have to eat at least 2 times a day. Just be wise and responsible enough towards our food intake. Never close the possibility that anytime, what we take in can also be the one that can destroy us.
As the saying goes, "health is wealth." We should all be vigilant and meticulous in our diet.
