Not indicating that the content you copy/paste is not your original work could be seen as plagiarism.
Some tips to share content and add value:
- Using a few sentences from your source in “quotes.” Use HTML tags or Markdown.
- Linking to your source
- Include your own original thoughts and ideas on what you have shared.
Repeated plagiarized posts are considered spam. Spam is discouraged by the community, and may result in action from the cheetah bot.

Hi @steemcleaners I use to run own a health and fitness blog 2014-15 and I had a writer who use to help me with articles see here https://web.archive.org/web/20150822042332/http://www.healthfitnesscorner.com:80/metabolism-boosters/
Healthfitnesscorner.com was my site Im really shocked and speechless at the moment, I need to check my own blog from 3 years ago. How can I fix this do I link the site under my post or just erase this one? What is the best and most honorable way to fix this. Please advise thanks Sheryl
This isn't isolated. There is plagiarism in more of your articles. Like here: https://steemit.com/life/@road2wisdom/how-you-can-change-the-world-just-by-switching-to-organic-coffee-one-cup-at-a-time
Your post

If someone else wrote this for you, I suggest finding a better writer who isn't a plagiarist.
yes @steemcleaners brought it to my attention. Yes someone else did write these articles for my website/blog when I ran one. I trusted this person too. I am glad it was brought to my attention and the issue wont happen from this point on. I thought well, since I had a blog let me use my articles that were on my site. well looks like it turned to crap. I changed this article and I'm still up thinking about this when I should be sleeping. Why? Cause I care.
Well I just found a second one and a third had a few full sentences copied. Citing the sources would still be a copy/paste article which is also frowned upon but it's a start. People have already up voted you assuming it was your original content. Your posts will most likely be flagged to remove those payouts.
I didn't know I had a source like I said I had a blog and a writer I trusted. So tell me what to do at this point? Site the sources? Yes remove the payout if you feel it necessary I don't want credit for others work. I thought everything on my blog site was original content. Did you look at the link to my blog? ( this is embarrassing enough) for me because I paid that person well too. Here I thought I finally could make up for my blog site years that went nowhere. wow Please advise thanks
Just explain the situation as best you can in the post and let people judge it accordingly.
Hey @neoxian as you read above I am stunned that my blog writer copied work as I was unaware. I owned and ran a blog site from 2014-15 as I linked the waybackmachine link there. I thank the @steemcleaners for bringing this to my attention. I will be more careful moving forward because this was quite embarrassing. I rewrote the post being that is 2am here. I did this because I value this community and I don't want to jeopardize my credibility. Thanks again.
@road2wisdom thank you for the detailed explanation and for staying up late to rewrite it. It shows you care. Be more careful moving forward and one more piece of advice I wouldn't use anything from your old blog site anymore. I believe you are sincere because you asked all the right questions and did the right thing. Don't let this discourage you keep steeming on.
Thank you road2wisdom. The truth is I am a little discouraged now but more so stunned and angry but I take full responsibility. The only thing I can do is give my word this won't happen again and I wont use anything from my old blog website anymore. Thanks for the advice.
@neoxian I took your advice and rewrote it and explained it all. How do you judge the situation after reading all of this? I can't sleep now its 3:30 am ugh.
i've removed the flag
Thank you @neoxian I appreciate your understanding. I had a website/blog from 2014 and I had a writer doing my blog post. So as I gave the links to steemcleaners and as he pointed out they were copied some where even word for word. All I can say is that I wont use articles from my old blog post because this seems to be an on going issue. Thanks again I guess my next post will prove everything. Thanks Sheryl
This is just a minor speeding offence Sheryl, nothing more. MUCH worse than this goes on on here than this minor flagging issue I promise you!! Straighten yourself up, dust yourself down and Steem on! :)
Maybe just try posting new stuff that you make yourself unless your sure on the old stuff.
That's what I thought I did, until you brought it to my attention. that one was world for world, now I'm not that dumb to write a word for word post!! but I rewrote it and as far as my old blog website I will not use anything from there again. Did you see the link and the year from 2014? when I owned it. I'm glad you brought it to my attention but its embarrassing and I have been working hard here to make relationships and so on. Put it this way I usually don't lose sleep for much. but I am for this. I think because my trust was broken when the articles were written. Did I do the right thing by rewriting it this late? Are we ok @steemcleaners?
