Pharmacies vs. Health Food Stores
The fight between the drug industry and the natural health industry has always been a hot topic among human beings. The pharmaceutical industry is constantly bombarding propaganda into our brains, propaganda that drugs are good for our health. Even though, they openly write all the side effects of each drug in the package or they state them at the end of a drug commercial on TV, we still take them. The propaganda has been very effective for many years, but now things are changing. Now people are starting to realize that pharma drugs are not here to heal us, and doctors will probably loose their jobs and money if we were healed completely.
The drug industry will never admit that a natural well balanced diet with lots of antioxidants will be a better preventative for heart disease, than baby aspirin. Selling Baby aspirin will make them lots of money, teaching you how to eat properly wont.
This goes for every preventative disease out there, diabetes, heart disease, COPD, IBS, depression, anxiety, etc. All these disorders can be prevented and even reversed with proper nutrition, natural supplementation, a relaxed and active lifestyle and detox once or twice a year. Each disorder and person is unique so the natural protocol will be different for everyone, but the bottom point is that there is no need to consume harmful synthetic chemicals, that on top of harming your body and wallet, they only mask symptoms instead of fixing the root cause of the disorder.
What do you think about Microwaves?
Microwaving food will always have some loss of nutrients, just as it would happen when food is boiled or cooked at high heats. An experiment made by Villejo in 2003 found that microwaved broccoli lost 97% flavonoids, 74% sinapics, 87% caffeoyldant, all important compounds for general health. Steaming on the other hand, does not give such big4846654926_f811222071_o losses, flavonoids are reduced only by 11%, sinapics almost 0% and caffeoyldant about 8%.
Because, most bioactive compounds are water soluble, they leach to the water when heated at high temperatures, loosing nutritional value, which is why it is good to remember to cook vegetables with as little water as possible, such as in steaming.
Most of the time, nutrients are lost because of high heats over long periods of time. Such as in frying or even boiling. The trick is to keep the heating time to a minimum, whether microwaving or using other cooking methods. This is why; it is recommended that if microwaves are going to be used, it should be for only re heating, not cooking. Reheating will reduce the time the food is microwaved, which in turn it will lose fewer nutrients.
Based on some studies and research, when food is microwaved it doesn’t only loose nutritional value but its structure also changes, such as in protein denaturation. A lot more research keeps being done on this issue, because of awareness that microwaves emit frequencies that might not align with our food and our bodies. Just standing beside the microwave has shown that the body absorbs the waves emitted by the device
Microwaved foods keep being investigated and researched and so far some have shown a connection to low white blood cell count; it also has shown that elimination of bacteria such as E.coli, listeria and Salmonella is not effective with microwave.
Another important point about microwaved food is the type of container being used. Plastic containers and wraps leach out a lot of chemicals into the food, which is why the best advice is to use glass or microwave ceramic containers.
In conclusion, we can say that using the microwave might not be the best thing to do for our health, especially if use it a lot and for long periods of time. Therefore finding other ways to cook and heat our food is the best way of preventing unwanted health issues that a microwaved food could cause.
