Healthy/Budget Lunch Meal Plan
I will arrange a budget guide for living day to day.
This will be a series. I will go over shopping list and meal plans for breakfast lunch and dinner.
Also I will go over food recommendations, lifestyle changes, hobby solutions, just to name a few.
I see people spending 15-20$ USD on lunch everyday. This can be corrected very easily. Every morning wake up 20-30 minutes earlier (I know this will be hard for some but you must challenge yourself daily) put together one of the sandwich types that you have the ingredients for, Peanut Butter and Jelly, Turkey or Ham, etc , throw in a few of the other items I have listed, some chips, a couple pieces of fruit, or vegetables.
Here is the general shopping list:
- Bread (make sure to inspect the loaf pre purchase for any mold.)
- Peanut Butter
- Mayonnaise Mustard Ketchup Salt and Pepper packets from any fast food place you go. You may have to look around for a bit.
- Jelly
- Nutella
- Sliced Turkey(will be doing three days of meats Monday, Wednesday, Friday. pick either ham or turkey)
- Sliced Ham (can choose one or the other turkey or ham)
- Sliced Cheese
Produce
- Lettuce (for salad and on the Turkey and Ham Sandwich)
- A few Tomatoes
- Apples
- Oranges
- Carrots
- Celery
- Onion ( Sliced for salad and sandwich)
- Banana( buy slightly green so that it will last til the end of the week )
Monday's Lunch:
Turkey Cheese Sandwich with Lettuce, sliced Tomato, sliced Onion, Celery with a small cup of peanut butter or Nutella to dip in. 2 Oranges Small bag of Pretzels
Tuesday's Lunch:
Peanut Butter and Jelly, Banana , peeled and cut carrots, Bag of Chips.
Wednesday's Lunch:
Ham Cheese Sandwich with Lettuce, sliced Tomato, sliced Onion, Celery with a small cup of peanut butter or Nutella to dip in. 2 Oranges Small bag of Pretzels
Thursday's Lunch:
Nutella and Peanut butter sandwich, pick your other ingredients. Banana, Apple, Bag of chips or pretzels.
Friday's Lunch:
Turkey Cheese Sandwich with Lettuce, sliced Tomato, sliced Onion, Celery with a small cup of peanut butter or Nutella to dip in. 2 Oranges Small bag of Pretzels
Feel free to mix and match the ingredients I've listed here. This is just an outline so you can get a general idea for what to buy and how to pack it.
I recommend buying a small cheap cooler and an ice pack that you can load into the freezer every night you get home.
This list can seem slightly expensive at first purchase but you must consider that some of the ingredients will last for two weeks or more.
Also you must be aware of the fact that some ingredients will spoil faster than others. Try to select the right amount of meats, so that on Friday you use up the rest of the meats and none is spoiled and thrown out. For example, lets say you want buy a packet of pre sliced turkey, make sure to use the correct amount of meat each day, that would be 1/3 per Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
