Bad breath (Halitosis) - Causes and tips. Dental issue #3
Bad breath, also known as halitosis or fetor oris, affects an estimated 25% of people, worldwide (1 in 4 people). This is a common problem that can cause psychological troubles. The halitophobia is a psychological condition that makes people paranoid about the smell of their breath.
There are a number of potential causes of bad breath.
-Periodontal disease / Gum disease.

-Hormonal changes.
-Bad nutrition.
-Smoking.
Tips: The best method to reduce halitosis is good oral hygiene. Other lifestyle remedies can include:
-Hydration.
-Brush teeth, gums and tongue properly.
-Floss teeth.
-Have regular dental checks.
-Quit smoking.
-Improve nutrition habits: avoid onions, garlic, spicy food, sugary foods. Reduce coffee and alcohol consumption.
-Some foods that eliminate bad breath: Mint, ginger, celery, citrus fruits, cinnamon.
